How to Get Elder Sigils in MW3 Zombies
If you’ve been grinding the Urzikstan map in MW3 Zombies, you know it’s packed with things to explore for a better gameplay understanding. If you don’t pay attention, you may miss some of them. For example, if you are trying to enter the Dark Aether, you can’t do it if the Dark Aether Rift is not activated. This activation process is tougher to do than say. Dark Aether portal requires multiple key items to be activated, but even after you place all of them, this portal can’t be activated unless you place the Elder Sigil on the designated spot.
The game has several regular versions of sigils, but what makes them different from the Elder ones is the latter’s use in opening the passage to travel to Dark Aether. Now you can ask why should you go to Dark Aether. That’s only because you can’t get the Classified Weapon Schematics anywhere else. So, even though the acquiring process is tough, you have to find Elder Sigils in MW3 Zombies.
Where are Elder Sigils in MW3 Zombies?
If you are a veteran Call of Duty player, you must be aware that in these games keys don’t spawn in a fixed location. Each COD game has this feature in common keys spawn randomly on the map, and given that Elder Sigil is also a key, its spawn locations are not fixed. There’s even a catch. Elder Sigils can only be found by completing contracts.
Don’t get excited, as these contracts must be completed in the red zones. To be precise, if you are looking for an Elder Sigil, you have to complete contracts in the high-alert zones of the map. Then also, the chance to get an Elder Sigil is 50-50. Not every contract you complete in the high-alert zone gives you the desired item. The scenario is quite complicated and luck-based. The drop is random and if your luck doesn’t favor you; you have to complete several contracts to get one.
This is a rare reward. So, you must make a proper strategy to increase the odds of getting an Elder Sigil. We recommend bringing a few friends and completing contracts individually to check whether one of you is lucky enough to get an Elder Sigil. Finding contracts in the high-threat zones of MW3 Zombies is easy, but the process can be challenging. The zombies will be tier-3 enemies, so you must at least have tier-2 Pack-A-Punch weapons to fight them.
Though every mission you complete in these areas has a chance to give you the Elder Sigil, you can choose simple missions like Cargo Delivery missions and Bounties to make the process faster. If you can complete a few missions within a few minutes, the odds of getting an Elder Sigil will increase, as you can complete more missions than usual.
All these missions can be done alone as nothing is impossible for a solo player in MW3 Zombies. But we still suggest having some teammates to help you survive and complete the contracts.
Once obtained, bring the Elder Sigil to the Dark Aether Portal and place it on the right pedestal, along with the other four keys, to activate the portal.
What are the Other Keys to Enter The Dark Aether?
The Elder Sigil is one of the keys to open the Dark Aether Rift. There are four more to collect before you finally enter the portal. Among the four keys, the first is the Locked Diary. This Diary can only be found by completing the Act 4 Story Mission: Bad Signal. So ensure you haven’t skipped the mission.
Next, the Pill Bottle can be found by shooting a Cyst in Aether Nests. But there’s a catch, you must shoot it while equipping a Brain Rot Ammo Mod. The next key, the Surveillance Camera can be acquired by destroying a Harvester Orb with a Dead Wire Ammo Mod equipped.
Finally, you need a Dog Collar. For that, you must locate a Dog House and place a chunk of meat and Molotov inside it. Once the Hell Hound spawns, kill it to acquire the Dog Collar.
Acquiring these keys is only the first step that you have completed. You must upgrade all of them to the Gold rarity to place them on their designated pedestal. This can be done by vising an Aether Tear. It will help you access the Purple Bounties, which will eventually open the Gold Rift. Anyway, this must be done individually for every item you have acquired.
Once you have gone through all these processes, you need the Elder Sigil to be placed in its place to activate the portal. Also, remember, these must be done in one go. You can’t extract with these items. So, they will be lost once you die.
