How to Get Driftwood in Hades 2

A lot of crafting materials of the game can be found in the biomes of the Underworld, but Driftwood is different. If you have been looking for it in the Underworld, that’s not going to work because Driftwood can be acquired from the Surface. Therefore, unless you have unlocked Surface, there’s no way to get Driftwood. To begin with the process, first, perform the Incantation Permeation of Witching Wards and unlock access to the Surface.

After solving this issue, another issue appears. Surface has a curse that prevents Melinoë from staying there for a long time, initially. As soon as she starts exploring the Surface, she will eventually lose HP. Not controlling it on time will cause her death. In case you are finding Driftwood, you have to travel to the second surface area, named Rift of Thessaly, which is located deep inside the Surface. 

Rift of Thessaly can be accessed after players defeat Polyphemus in the City of Ephyra. Initially, it is impossible to reach the area with the curse draining your health. So, first, you need to stop this health drain. To do this, you need to unlock and perform another incantation named Unraveling a Fateful Bond. This incantation requires 2x Moss, 2x Thalamus, 2x Lotus, and 2x Nightshade.

There’s a catch to unlocking this spell as you it can’t be granted to you immediately after entering the Surface. This incantation will be given by Moros after you die several times for the curse. Performing this spell will remove the curse, and now players can freely roam around Surface, exploring every inch of the region. 

Driftwood looks like a fallen log and can be found randomly anywhere in the area. There’s no specific way to locate them. Instead, they spawn randomly, so it’s pure luck to acquire them. Once you locate it, pick it up. No specific tool is required to collect it. You need several runs to collect enough Driftwood for crafting incantations. 

Which Incantations Require Driftwood in Hades 2?

We have already mentioned a few times that Driftwood is required to craft incantations, especially late-game incantations. However, without knowing which incantations require this crafting material, it will be hard for players to determine the importance of the item. Only three late-game incantations require Driftwood.

Sandy Lifespring is the last incantation to be performed using Driftwood. This incantation requires 3 Driftwood and 3 Iron. This is one of the most important among the three incantations mentioned in the list, as it unlocks the Rift of Thessaly’s rest area, where players can revive lost health.
