Elden Ring’s new DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, is full of mysteries. The expansion’s in-game world, like the base game, has multiple regions to explore. Though you can randomly roam here and there and fight enemies, having maps of a specific region makes the journey much more organized as players can clearly see where to go. That’s why Map Fragments should not be missed in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Shadow of the Erdtree has introduced a whole new world with new regions. As you explore, sometimes you will come across Map Fragments of that region, which unlock the entire map of the area. However, if you haven’t yet encountered Map Fragments, here we will tell you all the locations.

If you have been trying to explore all the corners of the Shadow Land, Map Fragments are essential. Without the map of a region unlocked, players will be confused about where to go. However, finding Map Fragments is not easy. They are hidden in every region, and without knowing their location, it’s hard to find them. So, let’s check the locations of all five Map Fragments in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Gravesite Plains Map Fragment
Gravesite Plains is the first region of the DLC where players will step in after they are transported to The Land of Shadow. At the very beginning of this region, a Site of Grace will be found, and from there, if you look forward, you will find two gates on your right-hand side. Precisely, it’s the northeast side that you need to look at. Start moving towards the northeast of the area, and eventually, you will locate the Scorched Ruins.
The map fragment is located on a pillar on the right side of the road, just before the ruins. Pick it up from there, and the entire map of the Gravesite Plains will be unlocked.
Scadu Altus Map Fragment
The next region players will unlock during their journey is Scadu Altus. This is the closest region to reach after the Gravesite Plains. Scadu Altus can be accessed in two different ways. Among them, the first involves Castle Ensis and the battle with Rellana. This is the toughest of the two, but this is the shortest.
The second option is to follow the road going east down the hill in the direction of the Ruined Forge Lava Intake. Avoid the trolls and other enemies, and eventually, you will find a sealed spiritspring. Making your way further will take you to Scadu Altus, but this is a long way.
However, once you are in Scadu Altus, start moving toward the north, following the road toward the Shadow Keep Legacy Dungeon, and you will spot the Map Fragment of the region right before the encampment.
Southern Shores Map Fragment
This is one of the most time-consuming Map Fragments to be discovered. So, start from the Castle Front Site of Grace, and from there, move toward the southeast until you go down a slope and reach a cave entrance. Enter the cave and explore the area until you locate the Ellac River Cave Site of Grace. Now it’s time to do some parkour, where players need to jump from one rock formation to another.
After coming near the waterfall, go down the waterfall using the ledges and follow the river toward the south until you reach the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace. Progress toward the south, and you will find the Map Fragment of the region.
Rauh Ruins Map Fragment Location
This is another complicated Map Fragment to be found. Ruah Ruins Map Fragment seems to be a complex one to find initially, but with detailed information, the process will become easier. If you are aware, Ruah Ruins is located on the far northwest side of the Shadow Land, but the Map Fragment will be found in a different way from the original path that leads to Ruah Ruins exploration.

So, starting from Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, head northwest and get past the statue of Marika. Progress through the cave and move northwest, until you spot Ancient Ruins Base Site of Grace. From this part, you have to make your way to the southwest side and you will eventually locate the Map Fragment of the region.
Abyssal Woods Map Fragment Location
This one is a bit different than other Map Fragments in the expansion. The journey will be long and full of danger. So, start from Shadow Keep Legacy Dungeon and take down the Golden Hippopotamus. Now, make your way to Abyssal Woods, the creepiest location in the game. To reach there, players need to spot the Ruins of Unte, and from there, if you follow the waterfall, you will find the entrance to the Darklight Catacombs.
At the end of this dungeon, you will reach the Forsaken Graveyard Site of Grace in Abyssal Woods. From there, start moving toward the south side, in the direction of Woodland Trail. Keep going toward the southeast, and you will encounter Madding Hand. Keep following the path, and eventually, it will take you to the Map Fragment you are looking for.
That’s more or less everything players need to know if they are willing to get all five Map Fragments in Shadow of the Erdtree. Finding Map Fragments is tough in the DLC, but with proper information, players can easily find them and unlock the entire map of these regions, so further exploration gets underway. Otherwise, roaming around without a map won’t help you much.
