Boss fights are integral parts of Call of Duty games, and Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is no exception to that rule. Starting from season 1, this mode has featured deadly bosses to encounter, and every season, the traditions only get tougher with the introduction of new bosses. This time, it is the Taoxia boss that players need to fight at one point in the game. This fight is mandatory to progress through the new content in the game.

Fighting bosses has never been something easy in MW3 Zombies, so if you have faced the Taoxia boss and been eliminated a few times, that’s normal. The fight is tough, and without proper help, players can’t survive against the boss. Therefore, we have prepared a complete walkthrough of the fighting process in this guide. Let’s start with the location of the boss.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: Where to Find the Taoxia Boss?

Finding bosses as part of story missions is not at all something unique. Often, bosses appear as players reach the end of a story mission, and that’s a tradition going on for seasons. In Season 3 Reloaded as well, players have received a new story mission, named the Union story mission as at the end of this mission, players need to fight the Taoxia boss to escape the Dark Aether to complete the final objective of the mission.

Let’s check the process in more detail. Like every other update, the Season 3 Reloaded update has brought a new story mission that should be completed in Dark Aether. This is kind of a compulsory mission if you want to explore the story and unlock new schematics and other valuable items. Even to access the Dark Aether for the second time, this story mission is a mandatory one to complete.

The Union mission has two objectives to complete: first, players need to investigate the anomaly, and next, they have to escape the Dark Aether. The first objective requires players to follow Dr. Ravenov to locate Dr. Jansen. In this process, Dr. Jansen will enter the Aether Cloud, and two orbs will appear that players need to shoot and destroy.

Now, these orbs will land on the ground as crystals. Players need to shoot these crystals, following the structures that appear on them. These symbols can easily be found on walls and other solid surfaces. Shooting them will eventually weaken these crystals. However, make sure you shoot them in the proper order—the order they have in the crystal.

Once the crystals are weakened, players can easily shatter them. The next task is to break the seals and kill the zombies. As soon as this is done, the first objective of the mission is completed, and players will progress to the second objective, which is to escape the Dark Aether. This is the point when players will face Taoxia in MW3 Zombies, Season 3 Reloaded.

How to Defeat Taoxia in MW3 Zombies

Once players have destroyed the seals, there’s a summon that they need to activate, and that’s when Taoxia will appear. If you have played Zombies mode during other seasons, you must have faced Disciple enemies. So, if you find Taoxia pretty similar to them, that’s completely understandable. Taoxia is basically a Disciple variant that you are going to encounter in this mission, and it indicates that the fight is going to be a little challenging, especially if you are not well prepared. 

This final boss of the mission possesses the same powers and abilities as the Disciples. So, the moves of the boss won’t seem unique at all. Rather, they must be pretty familiar. For a reminder, let’s check the attacks of Taoxia. The boss has a deadly beam to drain your HP. So, you need to hide behind covers whenever the boss shoots the beam. 

Additionally, she will often summon Mimic and Manglers to make the fight tougher. Again, these are familiar mini-bosses that players must have encountered numerous times throughout the map of Urzikstan. These two bosses, especially Manglers are challenging enough to handle alone. Most importantly, during these times, Taoxia becomes immune to all damage. Until players take down the Mimic and Manglet enemies, there’s no way to make Taoxia vulnerable again. 

Already, the boss has a huge health bar that is not a joke to deal with. So, proper preparation is the key to winning the fight. Remember, a little mistake can ruin all your previous efforts. Therefore, the first thing you need to do before starting the Union mission is to gather your team. At least a three-member team is required to complete the mission, including the Taoxia fight. 

Bringing some teammates is always an advantage, especially for boss fights. Attacking enemies from different sides will distract their attraction and open opportunities for players to deal damage. Otherwise, if you become the center of attention, you will get more damage as the boss will completely focus on you.

Aside from that, each of your teammates should have at least one level 2 Pack-A-Punch weapon for the fight. That’s a must to keep in mind. No matter whether you are fighting with Taoxia or any other enemy, a level 2 Pack-A-Punch weapon will help you deal more damage to finish the fight faster.

During the fight, Toxia’s immune-attack phase will repeat multiple times. While defeating the other two summoned enemies should be a priority, make sure you are careful of Taoxia as well. Whenever you get a chance, keep shooting the boss. Doing this a few times during the fight will ultimately desolate the health bar of the boss, and you will get the portal to go out of Dark Aether.
