Call of Duty Zombies generally feature the most formidable bosses of the series. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is no exception. As part of several missions, players are tasked to kill these bosses. Defeating these powerful enemies not only helps them progress through the story but also acquires exclusive loot. The Stormcaller is one of the bosses that cause you lots of trouble until you deal with him. You can either kill him as part of the Closing Time mission or just for the thrill. So, if you are trying to figure out how to defeat Stormcaller in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, we will walk you through the entire process.

The Urzikstan map is full of bosses and mini-bosses. Fortunately, the Stormcaller is among the mini-bosses. However, don’t take it lightly because of that as this mini-boss can withstand massive damage and automatically heals over time. To be precise, the Stormcaller is an overpowered enemy that requires a solid battle strategy to beat. But before you fight him, first check out his location.

Where to Find Stormcaller in MW3 Zombies?

If you are a veteran Call of Duty player, you are aware that most COD bosses and mini-bosses spawn randomly on the map. Only a few have their fixed spawn locations. The Stormcaller is one of those bosses who doesn’t have any fixed location. Luckily, players can find it on their tac-map, once it has spawned.

The Stormcaller is located inside the Aether Storm. This storm spawns randomly during every game, and its location will be marked on the tac-map with a purple circle and a radioactive icon. What’s unique about this storm is that it will spread across the map at the end of each game.

Once you locate the purple circle and the icon on your map, take a vehicle and travel to the location. The mini-boss will be somewhere within the circle. You have to roam around the location to find the enemy. On that note, remember Stormcaller spawns once per match. So, if someone else has already taken it down, you can’t find him anymore in that same match. In that case, best of luck for the next match!

Additionally, inside the Aether Storm, you will get radiation damage. So, make sure you have a few Gas Mask to search the area to find the boss. Anyway, before you start looking for the enemy, you must be prepared to face this mini-boss.

Must-Have Things to Fight Stormcaller

In a first-person shooter game, boss fighting must require weapons. So, players must focus on bringing some powerful weapons first. But that differs based on where the storm has spawned. If it has spawned in a low-threat zone, you can use a level-one Pack-A-Punch weapon to clear out the entire area. But if it has spawned in a red zone or high-threat area, you need high-tier weapons.

Irrespective of the threat zone, the boss will be equally challenging to fight. So, better if you have high-rarity weapons. At least, Epic rarity. Gather armor plates and grenades to prepare for a head-to-head fight. It is best if you bring a level 2 or 3 Pack-a-Punch upgraded weapon, a Sentry Gun, Decoy Grenades, and Ammo Mods for this fight.

Additionally, you must have a squad. Nothing is impossible for a solo player in MW3 Zombies, but this boss fight may take a lot more tries, if you try it alone. We recommend gathering at least a squad of four players. That’s necessary because the Stormcaller is surrounded by waves of zombies. It’s hard to deal with them alone. If your teammates take care of the zombies, you can focus on defeating the boss.

Last but not least, try to get a Hellhound pet. Having a Hellhound pet can significantly change the outcome of the fight. It will get aggression from the zombies while reviving the injured teammates. Sorting out the revive process will allow the entire squad to focus on fighting the boss and the zombies.

Now that you have weapons and your squad is prepared for the fight, let’s dive into the strategy to defeat the boss faster.

How to Defeat Stormcaller in MW3 Zombies

how to beat stormcaller

Stormcaller is a level 3 boss, so, naturally, it will give you a hard time defeating it. The most tricky part of this fight is the dark storm circle. It reduces the visibility and makes it difficult to watch out for the Zombies or the incoming boss attacks. To solve this issue, players can lure the boss to the edge of the storm circle and fight him from outside the circle. It will increase visibility.

While fighting this boss, remember that this enemy regenerates health over time. The only solution to this problem is to keep attacking him. If you give him a break, it will revive some of his lost health. Don’t give him a chance. Take a proper position and aim properly, so you don’t miss shots. If possible, take at least another teammate of yours to keep shooting the boss to reduce its chance of regaining health.

The Stormcaller is a flying enemy, much like the Disciple. The enemy will launch four powerful attacks that you must dodge if you don’t want to lose a significant amount of health:

  • Summon Zombies: once you clear the area near the boss, it will start summoning more zombies. However, this process takes a few seconds and that will be your chance to deal heavy damage to the enemy.
  • Life Drain: Life Drain is an AOE attack that the enemy will launch at particular intervals. This attack will affect a certain range of the battle arena and if you stay within its range, it will drain your health gradually while healing the boss’ health.
  • Swipe Attack: This is a melee attack the boss will launch. If you get hit, you will get hefty damage. So, it is better to keep your distance from the boss.
  • Empower Zombies: That’s another trick the boss uses to deal with players. Occasionally, he will empower a few zombies and those zombies can then sprint at a great speed to attack you even before you prepare yourself to kill them. This trick he will use throughout the battle.

So, defense must be your priority during this fight. But don’t stop shooting it. You can use Killstreaks, Cluster Mines, Juggernaut, etc., to deal as much damage as possible. Once you survive these attacks and kill the boss, you will receive a legendary reward: Gold Skull. Though it’s of no use, you can sell it at any Buy Station for 5000 Essence.

That’s everything we can recommend you to beat the Stormcaller in MW3 Zombies. This may take some time or a few attempts, but if your strategy is right, you can beat the boss. If you’re struggling with other bosses, why not take a look at our guides on how to defeat Orcus, or how to defeat Warlord?
