How to Defeat Orcus in MW3 Zombies

As a first-person shooter, boss fights are often one of the most challenging tasks to complete in the COD series, especially in the Zombies mode. So, maintaining this tradition, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies has introduced a group of formidable bosses to the game that players must defeat as part of missions or to acquire rich loot. Among these bosses, Orcus claims a special mention, as this giant worm is the final boss with a massive health pool and powerful attacks. So, if you are confused about how to defeat Orcus, this guide will walk you through the entire process.

Orcus Location in MW3 Zombies
In COD most bosses spawn randomly anywhere on the map. However, there are only a few that spawn in a fixed location and Orcus is one of them. Anyway, that’s not all. There’s another catch. Players can’t access this Aether Worm boss randomly following the map location. This formidable enemy can only be accessed through completing a particular set of missions.
Orcus boss’ location is not marked on the tac-map. If you are looking for it, you must go through the main story missions of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies and start the Act 3 Defeat Zakhaev story mission. Once you unlock the story mission, you will notice a yellow exfil point on the map. Travel to that point and board the chopper to exfil. This will take you to the Zakhaev’s Stronghold, where Orcus is waiting for you.
Remember, this boss fight is only for those who have unlocked the Defeat Zakhaev story mission. So, if you are playing it in multiplayer mode, make sure all your teammates have unlocked this mission to accompany you in fighting the final MW3 Zombies boss.

How to Prepare for the Orcus Fight?
Based on Orcus’ size, power, and abilities, a few tries are required to defeat it. It will take thousands of bullets and lethal equipment to empty the massive health pool of the boss. So, be prepared, each time you go for the battle you have enough ammo and other lethal weapons with you. Bring fully upgraded weapons with powerful perks attached. Of course, select the best weapons you have in your inventory. We recommend taking up a Wonder Weapon. Must stock up on grenades.
While assault is the key to defeating enemies, players must not neglect their defense. So, make sure you have plenty of armor plates and health items with you. Must have access to a spare truck that you can use to escape, if required.
Last but not least, don’t fight this boss in solo mode. It’s almost impossible to defeat this boss alone. Players must need a squad to back them up. Ensure, all your squadmates have powerful weapons and equipment in their inventory.
We suggest making a squad of at least four before you start your mission of defeating Orcus. With multiple players attacking at the same time, it will divert the attention of the boss, making it less risky for an individual player. Alternatively, if you go alone, the boss will have the entire focus on you and the situation will become tricky. With a squad of pro players, you can even bait the monster, so others can deal the highest damage possible.

How to defeat Orcus in MW3 Zombies?
This giant worm has different attacks that you must watch out for. Otherwise, he will eliminate you even before you understand the situation. The boss mainly uses three attacks:
- Head Smash: This is one of the most deadly attacks the boss uses. Once the smash attack hits the ground, it creates splash damage to a certain radius. If you come inside the radius, you will get heavy damage.
- Aether Beam: Aether Beam is the primary attack of the boss. Gathering aether energy, the boss shoots beams from his mouth. Getting in their way will deal tons of damage. However, the only relaxing part is that these beams are shot in a straight line. So, players can easily dodge them.
- Underground Charge: The Worm boss, uses this attack once it reaches half of its health. It will dive underground and shoot a charged attack toward a designated area. Don’t panic, as you can clearly see its underground moving path through the dirt clouds.
These are the attacks you should be careful about during the entire fight. Whenever the boss is about to launch an attack, take cover or dodge them.
While defending yourself, focus on the weak spots of the boss to deal maximum damage. On the elongated body of the worm, you can see multiple purple parts, signifying the weak points that you should target. If you are finding it hard to locate them, go to the back side of the boss. This will reveal the weak spots more clearly. This fight will take tons of ammo, so try not to waste it by firing at random places on the enemy’s body.
As the boss loses its health, its aggression will increase. It will start launching more powerful attacks but don’t get puzzled. Use the same strategy of taking cover to avoid the attacks, while keep on attacking it on its weak spots. This fight may take some time or even a few attempts, but with proper strategy, you can beat the Orcus boss in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.
