How to Defeat Maelstrom in Stellar Blade
Is Maelstrom giving you a hard time beating it? Reduce your struggle and find the best possible way to beat it faster.
Boss fights are one of the central activities in Stellar Blade. Generally, action-adventure games feature tons of activities to complete, but none can beat the boss encounters, as they are the main attractions of the games. Similarly, as soon as you start your Stellar Blade journey, Eve needs to be prepared for challenging boss encounters, and the Maelstrom fight can easily be considered one of the toughest.
Eve needs to take care of different gigantic Naytibas to make her way to the climax, but Shift Up has ensured that none of these encounters will be easy for her. Each boss, irrespective of whether it appears early or late in the game, gives Eve equally difficult challenges to overcome. So, it is normal if you are looking for some help dealing with Maelstrom in Stellar Blade. In this guide, we will give you all the required information, including its location.
Stellar Blade Maelstrom Location – Where to Find It?
Maelstrom is the fifth world boss to fight in Stellar Blade. From the previous boss fight experiences, you must have already gained an idea about the bosses and their strengths. Well, Maelstrom is not different than others; instead, it is going to be more challenging than the previous ones you have encountered.
This is one of the game’s major bosses whom Eve will encounter as part of a main story mission named Altess Levoire. This is the fourth main quest of the game, which takes players to the first open area of the game, Wasteland. The main objective of this quest is to access the Altess Levoire and find a Hyper Cell. However, at the end of this mission, Eve will eventually reach the Bottom of the Heart of the Infection, where she will locate a long ladder.

So, before climbing the ladder, make sure to access the Supply Camp and replenish Eve’s health. Additionally, upgrade the weapons or unlock new skills to survive the fight.
Once you are entirely prepared for the encounter, it is time to check the strategies to fight the boss.
How to Defeat Maelstrom in Stellar Blade
Let’s start this section with the appearance of the boss. Once you reach the boss’s den, you will see a gigantic creature formed by many bodies and Test Subjects. The boss doesn’t only appear creepy; this creature is much different than other bosses in fighting mechanisms as well. For example, the bosses Eve has encountered previously are all regular enemies who run around the arena to attack the protagonist, but Maelstrom is unique.
This enemy is attached to the wall with its webs and attacks Eve with mainly projectile attacks. Precisely, Maelstrom can’t follow you around the battle arena.
This probably seems like great news for players. Well, that’s not the case. The enemy has deadly attacks in stock with a massive health bar that can’t easily be emptied. If you start randomly showering bullets at the boss, that’s going to be a waste of bullets and energy. So, plan your moves carefully without wasting ammo. Wasting ammo can prove vital in the later part of the fight.
The first thing to do as soon as the fight begins is to make some distance from the boss and equip a ranged weapon to deal damage. The second thing to keep in mind is to use the dodge ability whenever required to avoid taking damage. Parrying the attacks of this gigantic enemy is almost impossible. So, dodge and shoot will be your primary strategy. The boss mainly uses projectile attacks of different types.
For example, it has a throwing ball attack, where the boss throws three balls that stay in the air for some time and then explode when they hit the floor. If you come within range of the explosion, damage is inevitable.
Next, the boss shoots multiple projectiles from right to left. Dodge them to avoid getting hit. At regular intervals, the boss will summon Test Subjects, which will explode as they get near you. Don’t let them come near you. Instead, attack them with the sword and jump away out of their range. Apart from these, the boss even has yellow attacks. Fortunately, it uses only two yellow attacks.

In the first yellow attack, the boss throws three projectiles at the floor, and in the second attack, it launches an expansive burst. For the second attack, you will see a red circle around the boss. For both attacks, the only strategy you need to use is to keep a safe distance from the boss. Don’t come within the range of these attacks, or you are going to lose a chunk of your health.
Now that you are aware of the incoming attacks, it is time to check out the weak spots of the boss to deal damage to them. Shooting the boss randomly will deal him damage, but that microscopic damage won’t do anything significant, except for wasting your ammo. So, look for the yellow-burning parts in the body of the boss. These are the weak spots, and shooting them will deal substantial damage to the boss.
Players will find four or five of them appearing together. Shoot them all, and once all these yellow spots burst, the enemy will open its mouth, revealing a new weak point to shoot.
Shooting at the mouth of the boss will deal the maximum damage possible and help players drain a chunk of the boss’s health in no time. This requires a stable speed. The yellow marks appear on the body of the boss for a few seconds, and again, they will disappear if you miss the chance to shoot them. So, ammo may be a concern during this fight. Don’t worry. The Test Subjects the boss summons will drop ammo as they explode. Pick them up, so you don’t feel a lack of ammo during the fight.
Well, that’s only the first encounter with Maelstrom; again, Eve will find this boss in Abyss Levoire, in the Great Desert. Well, the fighting strategy will be the same this time as well; the only thing that will differ is that the boss won’t summon Test Subjects. So, this time, if you are looking for ammo, burst the yellow pustule, and they will drop ammo. The remaining strategy will be the same: dodge and shoot to take the boss down.
That’s everything players need to know before going for the Maelstrom fight in Stellar Blade. Taking down this boss will give players Weapon Core, Shield Penetration Gear, Beta Charge Gear 2, gold, resources, and EXP as rewards.
