Ghost of Tsushima has boss fights throughout the gameplay. Most of these fights are 1v1 fights where mastering the necessary abilities and skills plays a key role. The main story missions of Ghost of Tsushima take players to different areas of the map to complete activities and explore a new part of the story. For example, if you have started progressing through The Ghost of Yarikawa mission, eventually, it will take you to the General Temuge fight. This story mission is longer than most other missions and also full of actions. Additionally, as part of the main story mission, there’s no way players can skip the General Temuge fight.

He is one of the major bosses of the game and the leader of the Mongolian camp whom players will find after they have completed a significant amount of the story in Act 2. Players will find this enemy at the Steward’s Keep when players enter the location for the second time. However, we suggest, not to randomly jump for the fight as the boss can eliminate you in an instant. So, make sure to heal first and then equip a proper armor to protect your character from melee damage.

Ghosts of Tsushima- How to Defeat Temuge?

Temuge is one of the heavily armored soldier enemies to fight with a powerful shield. The enemy won’t let you damage him easily. So, players need to learn three necessary skills before they come for this fight. These three skills include Water Stance combat, evading unblockable attacks, and dealing with fire damages. The last ability is required because the boss will fight behind his shield and use a fire sword to deal the most damage. Therefore, defense should be the priority.

One thing to keep in mind from the beginning is that the boss has a huge health bar. Therefore, it is not wise to speed up the process. If you start attacking the boss randomly, it will make things difficult for yourself. So, stay calm and use defensive abilities, until the boss gives you the chance to land a few attacks. 

The boss has quite a few attacks to deal with and importantly, some of them are unblockable. The first deadly attack is the three-swing combo attack of the boss. This attack has a brief flare of flame at the end of it. However, the tricky part is that this is an unblockable attack. So, jump and dodge the attack.

Another unblockable attack of the boss is the burning sword attack. This is one of the primary attacks of the boss where he sets his sword on fire before attacking the player. Again you can’t block this attack, so keep dodging backward until the attack animation ends. 

Additionally, the boss sometimes uses his shield to launch a deadly attack- Shield Bash. Sometimes this attack comes with the burning sword attack. Well, whether or not, Shield Bash is an unblockable attack again. 

From the above list of attacks, players must have understood that this fight can’t be completed with an aggressive strategy. So, be defensive and use parrying and dodging as two of the main skills to survive. Sometimes, players can do a quick attack whenever they find the boss is about to launch a sword attack. This will cancel the attack and the fire on the sword will be gone.

Though the boss attacks slow, still dodging or parrying his attacks is challenging. No matter how much you try, you can’t avoid all the attacks of the boss. If you are hit by a burn attack, use Roll ability to fix it. Otherwise, to replenish your lost health use some resolves. Well, you need to stock up as many resolves as possible before you come for this fight. You will need them often.

Finally, coming to the offensive strategy, nothing will work better than Water Stance to deal damage to Temuge. He holds his shield to defend all your attacks, and Water Stance is specifically designed to deal with these enemies. The boss has a huge health bar, so, players also need to take care of their health during the fight. We recommend equipping Sakai Clan Armor or Samurai Clan Armor, as both these armor pieces boost health.

The biggest thing to remember during this fight is Temuge’s vulnerability against Stagger damage. That’s the biggest advantage for players if they have unlocked the Flowing Strikes. Using this, you can break the defense of the boss within a few hits. If you have extra points, you can unlock a few more Water Stance techniques like Perfect Dodge, Perfect Parry, and Resolved Parry.
