The post-apocalyptic world of Stellar Blade welcomes players with cruelty and meanness. Players will find themselves at the mercy of Naytibas who have driven humanity away from earth. Players will have to take on the role of Eve to reclaim Earth from this monstrous species. As Eve and her squad reach Earth most of them get mercilessly slaughtered by the Naytibas. The player campaign begins with a bombastic action sequence where Eve and Tachy are attacked by a deadly foe.

This vicious enemy is Brute, an Elite Naytiba that can snuff out your life easily. Defeating the Brute is a difficult job and players will need to chalk out a strategy to take it down. Unleashing a barrage of strategic attacks is essential for defeating Brute and progressing in your campaign.

Players will encounter Brute for the first time during the prologue. However, players can progress without defeating it since this is a part of a tutorial. Players will have to face Brute again during the Life of the Scavengers side quest. You have no option but to defeat this formidable foe during the side quest.

Tips For Defeating Brute

Once the fight begins, one of the most important things to remember is to stay close to the Brute. By staying close you will get a lot of chances to parry its attacks. You can deal heavy damage after parrying an attack. The Brute will come charging toward you with an unblockable vertical swing.

Before unleashing an attack the Brute’s head will start glowing. Press R3 to avoid the attack and then run backward. Timing is the key to avoiding this attack if you fail to press the button at the perfect time, the Brute will be able to deal a significant blow to your HP.

Try to parry the attacks of the Brute when it lunges forward with a heavy attack. Remember, the key to defeating this alien creature is by dodging and parrying its attacks. To parry the attacks press L1 on your controller when the enemy launches its attack. After completing a successful parry follow it up with a Retribution move which will deal significant damage to the Brute.

Parrying and dodging are all about timing but to attack the Brute you must also remember its different attack combos. Memorizing them will make it a lot easier for you to defeat them. The Brute has four different attack patterns which we have explained below.

  • Double Rotation Attack
  • Three Consecutive Attacks
  • Five Consecutive Attacks
  • Slap

All of these attacks will come towards you at the beginning of the battle. The Double Rotation Attack can be countered by parrying it. You won’t see any glowing light when this attack is unleashed. So, act on it by using your instinct and by being on alert. The Brute will also throw Three Consecutive attacks at your way at the beginning of the battle. These attacks must be parried with precise timing.

As the fight progresses the Brute becomes more menacing and throws Five Consecutive Attacks. While discharging these attacks the Brute’s head will glow in red. Look out for the glowing red and time accordingly to parry all five consecutive hits. The Brute unleashes a vicious Slap on players which has to be avoided by dodging away. While charging with this attack Brute’s head will glow in yellow sending a signal to players.

Another way to fight the Brute is by attacking from behind. The Brute’s huge body makes it difficult to move fast and leaves it exposed in the back. Players can focus their attacks here to deal some damage to this beast.

During the first encounter with the Brute, Eve will be facing the Brute along with Tachy. So, players can attack when the Brute is focused on fighting Tachy. Keep in mind though, Tachy’s attacks are inconsequential to the Brute but she will cause a lot of distraction to the Brute. Players must use these moments of distraction to their advantage.

Although you can skip the tutorial Brute boss battle in the beginning, you will have to defeat it when you face it later in Stellar Blade. Defeating the Brute will grant you Money and Skill Points which can be spent purchasing items and unlocking skills. Among all the enemies in the game, the Brute will give you a strong challenge every time you face it. Remembering its attack patterns and timely countering them is essential for taking it down.
