Now players have to complete different tasks at different locations on the map to access a locked room and get valuable rewards.
The process may not seem challenging, it is actually tough to locate the chess board parts in the vast map of Urzikstan. Therefore, if you are trying to figure out how to complete the Chess easter egg in MW3 Zombies, this guide will help you with all the required information. Before going deeper into the process, let’s check out the location of the Chess puzzle.
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Chess Easter Egg Location
The chessboard is a hidden easter egg; therefore, naturally its location is not marked on the map. So, if you are not aware of the location, you will probably miss the chessboard and the quests related to it.
While exploring the map, players will eventually reach Sahin Manor area. The chessboard will be found in this specific location. To be precise, once you land on Urzikstan, make your way to the bottom right side of the map where you will see Sahin Manor.
Once you reach the location, navigate under the manor and you will eventually reach in front of a locked room which has a chessboard outside it. Now, all you need to do is to find and send back four transmissions to the chessboard to solve the puzzle and open the door. However, these four transmissions are scattered throughout the map. So, locating them won’t be an easy job without any help.
These four transmissions that you need to find are: Bishop, Knight, Pawn, and Rook. Below we will discuss all their locations individually. Also, be ready for some challenging fights as mini-bosses will guard the devices almost every time.
Bishop Location
Bishop is basically a mini-boss that you need to take down to complete the task. However, the process of locating this boss is not easy. To find him, make your way to the top left side of the map between Popov Power and Levin Resort. An underground tunnel will be found between these two locations in the medium threat zone. Most accurately, you will find the underground tunnel at the D1 coordinate. The Bishop mini-boss spawns inside.
Start progressing through the underground area and as soon as you reach the middle, smoke grenades will start exploding. Mercenaries will start spawning along with the mini-boss. Once you deal with all of them, including the mini-boss, he will drop the device you need to collect for the easter egg.
Knight Location
Next comes the Knight. The Knight is represented by a fully armored vehicle that you can see moving on your tactical map. Taking it down is the next challenge. If you are planning to face the Knight, open your tac-map and start tracking its movement. The Knight will drive the car throughout the map, therefore, he is hard to locate. Generally, he follows the train track, so track him down using the map and once you defeat him, he will drop the device you are looking for.

Taking down the Knight won’t be something difficult. Therefore, it will take less time than the previous one.
Rook Location
After the Bishop and the Knight, let’s look for the Rook. The Rook is one of the most troublesome to take down, but first, let’s check out its location. Make your way to the southeast side of the map to the Zaravan City. Well, you don’t need to enter the city, but you will find a hotel above the Zaravan City at B4 coordinate. This is the location where you will find Rook.
Make sure to be very careful. Rook is located inside a room upstairs, and he is a sniper. Above all, while you are making your way up, you will find traps at different locations. These should be avoided carefully to encounter and take down the enemy. Once defeated, the Rook will drop the third device you want to solve the chess puzzle.
Pawn Location
The Pawn is one of the unique encounters among these four. Initially, this encounter will give you an abandoned cellphone, which will be followed by a boss fight. Let’s move step by step. To find the cell phone, players need to go to the top right side of the map, right above the Orlov Military Base. Precisely, players need to go to the I1 coordinate where they will find an empty Shack.

Enter the shack and look carefully to locate a cell phone on the top of a TV in a corner. If you are surprised to see that no mini-boss is guarding the phone, don’t be too excited as the moment you pick up the phone, Disciples will start spawning along with hordes of zombies.
You can fight the Disciples, or you can run away from the location. If you are enough confident that you will take them down, you can go for the fight; otherwise, don’t try to fight them. Escape the location and get back to Sahin Manor where you have found the Chess Board. Survival is the key here. If you don’t survive, you won’t get the valuable rewards inside the room.
Upon collecting the devices, players will send the signal to the chess board and as soon as the fourth device is collected, the door will be unlocked. Inside the room, players will find chests full of three-plate vests, large backpacks, perks, aether tools, and if you are lucky, you can even get a Wonder Weapon.
That’s alll you need to do to complete the Chess Easter Egg in MW3 Zombies. Make sure you have one of your friends stay in front of the Chessboard. Otherwise, once you open the door, someone else can loot the items from the caches inside.
