Got stuck while completing Modern Warfare 3 Zombies missions? Well, that’s not surprising at all. Since its introduction in Modern Warfare 3, the Zombies mode has received more than expected popularity. Players loved the gameplay and the storyline of the Zombies mode but like every other COD game, MW3 Zombies has around 50 missions to explore the story, and they are divided into different acts and tiers. These missions are not complicated but, most of the time, these missions are a bit tricky. That’s exactly the case with the Act 1, Tier 3 mission Automated Backup.

So, if you are looking for some help with how to complete Automated Backup Mission in MW3 Zombies, this guide will help you with all the required information. It won’t be wise to jump into the mission without understanding the task of the mission. So, before we progress further and check the objectives of the mission, let’s check the objectives of Automated Backup.

Automated Backup Mission Objectives

If you want to complete a mission smoothly without any obstacles, you must know the objective properly. Understanding of the task makes things a lot more easier. So, if you want to complete the Automated Backup mission, go through the below objective:

  • Activate three Deadbolt Turrets with Ammo Mod Circuit Boards.

This is the only task of the mission and apparently, this looks simple. However, it is not at all simple; instead, this is one of the most time-consuming and confusing tasks you will get in the game. Therefore, to solve your confusion and complete the objective in one go, check out the section below.

Simplest Ways to Complete Automated Backup Mission in MW3 Zombies

The objective of the mission is quite confusing as the item it wants players to look for doesn’t really exist. At least you won’t find something with the same name. No matter how much you grind, you will get nothing called ammo mod circuit boards. That’s the catch. If you are unaware of what to look for, you can never complete the mission.

While the exact named thing can’t be found, players need to look for the item named, “Turret Circuit.” Turret Circuits are of two types. The one you are looking for is a kind of Ammo Mods and you will find various types of Ammo Mod Turret Circuits. For example, Brain Rot Turret Circuit or Naplam Burst Turret Circuit, etc. Attaching them to the Deadbolt Turrets will solve the mission.

Now that you know what to look for, let’s check out where to look for them. These things can only be found in the Aether Nests or Infected Strongholds. Just like the ammo mods, you need to clear the Aether Nests and Infected Strongholds and search the purple chests to know whether they contain a Turret Circuit or not. However, the spawn rate of the Ammo Mod Turret Circuit is very low. Therefore, it can take an entire game to get one, and here you need at least three of them to complete the mission. So, as soon as you spawn, start clearing the Aether Nests and Infected Strongholds to get one. The remaining part is pure luck.

While you are looking for the Turret Circuit, you must be aware of one thing in the purple boxes, you will often get regular Turret Circuits. These are more common than the ones you are looking for. So, when trying to complete the Automated Backup mission, make sure to look for Turret Circuits that have Ammo Mods attached.

You can start your search from the low-threat zones, but if you don’t find the Ammo Mod Turret Circuits there, go to the higher-threat zones and clear Aether Nests and Infested Strongholds. These areas will be much more difficult in the Orange and red zones, so we recommend bringing at least a three-player squad. These items are already enough rare to get, and if you die without completing three, you have to start everything from the beginning. Solo players can definitely try doing the mission, but they will take more attempts to complete them.

Deadbolt Turret Location

Once you get an Ammo Mod Turret Circuit, open the tac map and locate the nearest Deadbolt Turret. Deadbolt Turrets are scattered here and there on the map and all of them will be located at some higher location, like the top of any building. If you are not sure of the icon that represents the Deadbolt Turrets, check out the icon on the map above. Go to the location and interact with the Deadbolt Turret. Open your inventory and attach the Ammo Mod Turret Circuit to it. The Turret will be immediately activated.

Repeat the same process two more times to complete the mission. You can collect all three Ammo Mod Turret Circuits together before you start attaching them to the Deadbolt Turrets. Otherwise, you can collect each of them and immediately attach them. Any process will work. Once you complete the mission, you will get the rewards.

Rewards for Completing the Automated Backup Mission in MW3 Zombies

Death Perception Can Acquisition

Rewards are one of the most important parts of any COD mission and fortunately, Activision never gives players rewards based on their difficulties. In MW3 Zombies as well this rule is the same. Players can get different valuable rewards after completing missions, ranging from XP, free perks, weapon charms, etc. So, after you complete the Automated Backup mission, you will receive the following rewards:

  • Death Perception Can Acquisition
  • 1500 XP

Both these rewards are equally encouraging. Death Perception is an excellent perk that helps you to locate chests, enemies, and item drops easily.  This is a free perk that players can acquire through a different way, but getting it as a reward makes things a lot easier.

Alternatively, XP will help players level up early. Getting 1500 XP can instantly help you level up a lot, unlocking new items and perks.

That’s everything players need to do to complete the Automated Backup mission in MW3 Zombies. This mission is a time-consuming one, so be prepared for a lot of grinding and fighting when you jump into the mission.
