Though at a glance these missions don’t seem challenging, they can give anyone a hard time if they jump without prior knowledge. That’s exactly the case with Act 3 Tier 2 mission Alternate Current. If you have jumped into it without knowing the method to progress, you will be clueless after some time. What are the Alternate Current Mission Objectives in MW3 Zombies?

Alternate Current is one of the most confusing missions of the game. The objectives look simple, but the trick lies there. So, first, it is important to understand the objectives of the mission:

Before you dive into the mission, check the tasks carefully. Though they seem to require you to do the same activity with the zombies and mercenaries, there’s a slight difference. While zombies must be killed, mercenaries can only be affected. They don’t need to be killed. This makes the mission a little easier.

What are the Best Steps to Complete the Alternate Current Mission in MW3 Zombies?

To start this mission, you must come with Tesla Storm Field Upgrade. If you are a newcomer without any previous experience, let me tell you Field Upgrades are not part of the in-game loot pool. That means you have to jump into the game with this. So, go to your inventory navigate to the Field Upgrade section, Equip Tesla Storm Field Upgrade, and jump into the game.

This is the first and the most essential part of this mission. Now before you start looking for ways to complete the objectives, you must remember that field upgrades require charge to work and that can only be possible by killing zombies. So, after you land, start killing zombies to charge the field upgrade. Once it is fully charged, you can complete the objectives in any order.

Before that, we suggest you have pistols, Shotguns, or SMGs to kill the zombies. But the best option you can have is a Molotov. It will help you a lot. So grind a little to get the required weapons.

After you are fully prepared, let’s first check how to hit Mercenaries. We have already mentioned that Mercenaries don’t need to be killed. Activate the Field Upgrade and go near them. This field upgrade creates an electric field around you that affects whoever comes closer. That’s enough to electrify these AIs. Alternatively, when the Field Upgrade is activated if they touch you they will get electrified. Every Mercenary you electrify using Tesla Storm will be counted towards your progress. But here comes the catch. Electrifying the same mercenaries twice won’t count.

The best place to get a bunch of mercenaries is a Mercenary Stronghold. If you feel it won’t suit you, you can try Mercenary Camps as well. Locate a Mercenary Camp or Stronghold and travel to the location. If you have selected a stronghold, make sure you have the keycard. Purchase it or get it from a Camp and go to the stronghold. Additionally, you can accept Aether Extraction or Defend Ground Station contracts. These contracts will spawn a large number of mercenaries. As soon as mercenaries start chasing you, activate Tesla Storm and go close to them. Each time you activate Tesla Storm, you will get 10 seconds to accomplish your goal.

Next comes the zombies. This part of the mission is a bit tough, but not impossible. For that, first, recharge your field upgrade by killing random zombies, and when it is fully charged make your way to an Aether Nest or simply to an exfil point. These two locations will have lots of zombies.

In Exfil Point, you will find the zombies in an open area, but in the Aether Nest, they will spawn inside the building. So, we recommend luring them out. You can use Decoy Grenades to lure them out to a particular part of the field. When a wave of zombies gathers around the decoy grenade, activate the field upgrade and go into the wave. It will electrify them. Come out faster and as soon as you come out throw a Molotov to the electrified zombies.

Alternatively, you can start shooting them as soon as they get affected by the field upgrade. Once they are killed, you will see you have progressed a lot towards your objective. Repeat the same process another time or maybe twice to reach the given number.

Rewards for Completing Alternate Current Mission in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

It is almost impossible that a Call of Duty mission won’t give you rewards. Every time you complete a MW3 Zombies mission, you will get a reward. Similarly, completing the Alternate Current mission will give you the following items:

Brainrot Ammo Acquisition
2500 XP.

These two are equally significant rewards you can get in the game. While XP can help you level up faster and unlock new perks and equipment, Brainrot Ammo is another incredible addition that will help you turn situations to your favor by turning zombies against each other.
