Bond Missions in Rise of the Ronin are especially important side quests in the early parts of your adventure, as they contain a lot of unique gear and rewards for your Ronin to acquire.

While the Glider is made available to your Ronin as a part of the main story, there are two highly useful pieces of gear hidden behind a Bond Mission in the early game. And they lie with Igashichi Lizuka, the inventor and tinkerer you meet at the Yoshiwara Photo Studio.

While Igashichi is introduced to your Ronin as a part of the main story, it can be a good idea to keep an eye out for Bond Missions on your map from time to time. This mission unlocks as soon as you have handed over one of the many Foreign Books you will find along the way to Igashichi.

He needs your help, and it may be worth your while to build your bond with this charming genius.

How to Complete A Lucky Find Put to Use (Bond Mission) in Rise of the Ronin

Igashichi is having a few run-ins with the local government and needs a bit of help, which is where you come in. Head on over to the photographic studio (shown on the map above) to start the mission. This is the first of two Bond Missions you take on for Igashichi in the Yoshiwara region.

Follow Igashichi outside to trigger a cutscene – and a fight immediately after that. Deal with your enemies by mixing Combat Styles and Countersparks to gain the upper hand. Follow Igashichi to the nearby horses and get one to follow him to his storehouse.

Once there, speak to Igashichi to obtain the Detector, your first piece of valuable gear. It allows you to temporarily detect enemies through walls and obstacles. It is a major boost to your Ronin’s stealth capabilities, allowing you to set up quiet kills with ease. Igashichi then asks you to deal with the many officials between him and his storehouse.

Now would be a great time to test out your Detector. Deal with the enemies any way you see fit. There are nine of them, and Igashichi approaches you for a cutscene as soon as they are dealt with.

Follow him into his storehouse and look to the left of his workbench for the second valuable piece of gear he gives your Ronin. It is the Flamethrower and it can change the way you approach crowds of enemies. With a powerful stream of fire at your disposal, head outside to try your new weapon on some barrels.

A couple of enemies then try and attack you. Use the barrels in your path to show them the error of their ways. The mission ends after the ensuing cutscene.
