Stellar Blade features a lot of playable areas with a ton of side content and collectibles accompanied by unique gear for creating the perfect build. With many such areas opening up to the player, it can be difficult to keep track of them, and how to get there when you do remember them.

The Wasteland is one such area, with a ton of sub-areas for Eve to explore, many of them being tied to side missions. The Forbidden Area is one such example of this, having a fairly linear path toward a mediocre reward until Eve takes on a side quest later on in the story.

In the Footsteps of Tommy

There’s a lot to see in Stellar Blade’s Wastelands.

To truly unlock the Forbidden Area for exploration, you will need to unlock the Life of the Scavengers side mission in Stellar Blade.

This mission becomes available after you talk to Orcal again during the main mission Light of Hope. You will find an NPC named Cyrus by the entrance to The Last Gulp, the bar where you can find Enya and Su.

Cyrus and Tommy seem real tight.

He informs you of the disappearance of his partner Tommy, who took on an expedition into the Forbidden Area and has not been seen since. He asks for Eve’s help, which in turn adds the quest to your growing list of tasks.

How to Access the Forbidden Area in Stellar Blade

Remember not to look down.

On the eastern edge of the Wastelands lie the Scrap Plains. With the Life of the Scavengers mission marked active, follow the marker to the southeast of the plains. You should come across a few broken-down buildings.

On the south side of these buildings is a large hole in the floor leading downwards. You need to get to the bottom of this whole to progress. Fortunately, there are some conveniently placed ropes towards the southern end of the hole that you can use to get down.

Ready to rumble?

Turns out that the Brute you fought during the prologue wasn’t a Brute at all – the one you find here certainly is! The creature makes its presence known as you approach the metal grates near the bottom of the pit and can cause some problems with its area-f-effect explosions, slam attacks, and melee strikes.

As always, stay mobile, using your combat animations to your advantage to counter or dodge as necessary. The Brute should go down pretty quickly as long as you stay cautious of its multi-hit combos and use your Beta Gauge effectively. Bringing down this enemy nets a Damaged Weapon Core and Perfect Combat Gear along with some supplies – you also get the Brute Trophy as a bonus!

Investigate where the Brute came from to find Tommy’s Memory Stick alongside the Sporty Yellow Nano Suit Design Pattern. Talk about a good stash of loot. This area is locked unless you have the Life of a Scavenger mission marked active.

It gets even better. You can use Tommy’s Memory Stick as the Passcode for a lost chest found in Xion. Simply investigate close to the entrance of the Sister’s Junk shop to find a clocked chest, containing some crafting materials and Extreme Nano Elements once you input the passcode.

Speak to Cyrus to complete the Life of a Scavenger mission and cross The Forbidden Area of your early-game checklist.
