Earlier this month, NetherRealm revealed how Homelander would fit in Mortal Kombat 1, but the footage left a lot to be desired. For starters, it didn’t dig too deep into how the character’s gameplay would work, but fortunately, the developer has launched a new trailer that showcases the unhinged superhero in all his glory.

Although the absence of Antony Starr’s voice was felt in the first teaser, things are taking shape for Vought’s poster hero and his inclusion in Mortal Kombat.

The Fire God’s Got Nothing on the Upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 Fighter

In preparation to destroy anyone in his path, it’s natural that Homelander sips on milk to get the required nutrition to take on opponents like Fire God Liu Kang.

Fans got a taste of what to expect when both of these powerful beings are pitted against one another in the reveal footage, but the Vought superhero unleashes his lasers from the beginning to keep the odds in his favor.

An advantage that the guest character has over such strong foes is his flying ability, letting him maneuver across the stage as Homelander picks the Fire God up, smashes him into the ground, and directly shoots laser beams into his eyes.

Kang isn’t the only Mortal Kombat 1 veteran who gets devoured by the upcoming addition, as Kitana gets a taste of his wrath as well, and calling him words like “insecure” adds fuel to the fire. Taking some assistance from another Kameo fighter who’ll be added to the game next month, Homelander uses a combination of throwing Ferra at the opponent while continuously hitting them with his lasers, as they look like they’ll be playing a huge part in his gameplay.

Homelander Continues His Brutality Against Sub-Zero

Everyone may have a freezing point, but Homelander does not seem to have one.

With Kang and Kitana out of the way, Sub-Zero tries his hand at taking on Homelander, but from the first interaction, it’s clear that the guest character has no respect for even the strongest beings in Mortal Kombat 1.

Cold puns and Sub-Zero go hand-in-hand, as the Mortal Kombat icon aims to hit the Supe’s “freezing point,” but as Homelander proceeds to call him “Frosty,” the ice-based character learns that he made the wrong move picking a fight against the Kameo addition. After that, the upcoming fighter is seen snapping Sub-Zero’s neck mid-air, breaking Kang’s spine with Ferra’s help, and destroying the Fire God’s intestines with his lasers.

It wouldn’t be Homelander if his Fatality didn’t revolve around a plane, as the Supe punches Kang up in the air as an airplane hits him, holds him from his head, and throws him into one of the aircraft’s fans.

With the guest character joining Mortal Kombat 1 on June 4 for early access and TEKKEN 8 adding Lidia Sobieska in the summer, it seems to be an amazing time for fighting game enthusiasts.
