It looks like Arrowhead Game Studios is finally bringing its trademark magic back to Helldivers 2. With a new Major Order tasking players with a massive number of required kills in order to avoid the addition of a seemingly unpopular stratagem, the game is setting up a slew of new content in style.

The latest Major Order preceded the Escalation of Freedom update that is currently available to all Helldivers 2 players. The Order garnered a lot of attention – and amusing memes – on account of its difficulty, prompting an increase in the game’s player count, as many of them flocked back to the game to meet the challenge head-on.

With new enemy types, difficulties, and missions, it looks like Helldivers 2 is back in business.

The Major Order has been one part of the resurgence of Helldivers 2’s player count, considering that the Escalation of Freedom update adds a ton of new content to the game. With new difficulty levels, a Super Helldive mode, and some exciting new enemies to take on, it seems that Arrowhead Game Studios has paid attention to what its players have been saying the game needs and has risen to the occasion.

The Meme Order has also been a running gag among players and Arrowhead chose to join in on the fun – a characteristic of the studio that has often been a reason for its success. While that may not have always been the case, it seems that the studio has nailed the timing of its new Major Order in more ways than one.

The Escalation of Freedom update for Helldivers 2 has been bolstered by a cleverly executed Major Order.

The Major Order prompted many players to reassemble their teams and try to meet the challenge that Arrowhead extended to them, leading to an 88% increase in the game’s player count as per SteamDB.

Players took to Reddit to share in the excitement and attempt to beat the impossible target that Arrowhead set for them in an effort to avoid the Anti-Tank Mine stratagem, a defensive option that has often been avoided by many players and been the downfall of more than a few careless Helldivers.

The post below showcases how the Major Order got players to try and take down as many enemies as possible in an effort to stop High Command from ordering the new mines.

Other players chose more amusing ways to rally their teammates to the cause, using humorous references to make their point.

Some players preferred to wait for the Escalation of Freedom update and the upcoming new Warbond, however, as they felt that they would be straddled with the mines anyway as a prank by Arrowhead.

However, it looks like Helldivers 2 is back to its winning ways – bolstered by its new content and a catchy new anthem – and is all set to take the fight for Democracy to new heights as its players flock back to try out its new features.

Arrowhead Game Studios would certainly want to sustain the excitement and its Freedom’s Flame Warbond is sure to do just that.
