Helldivers 2’s Patch Actually Managed to Get Something Right
Helldivers 2 players find one interesting thing amidst all their disappointment.
Despite being one of the biggest releases of 2024, Helldivers 2 has traveled through a tough path with too many controversies and complaints to resolve. The frequency has not yet slowed down, even after six months; instead, it’s eventually increased with the latest patch, Escalation of Freedom.
Since the major update was released, players got frustrated, as Arrowhead almost nerfed everything, including all the potent weapons and stratagems. Instead of balancing the gameplay, it has created more mess, as players opined after experiencing the patch. However, amidst all this, fans are happy with a new feature.

Escalation of Freedom has made its way to the game on the scheduled date. However, immediately after the patch went live, players got furious about the nerfing of all the major weapons and equipment. This gradually made the journey a bit tougher for the update.

Arrowhead Promised to Consider the Flamethrower Nerfing Issue
Arrowhead has always been great at responding to players’ demands. Though mostly it messes up things and invites criticism, even the CEOs of the company interact with players to strengthen the bond and maintain the player base.
Therefore, as soon as the protest against nerfing the Flamethrower started, the developer appeared to tackle the situation. It has promised to consider the fire issues and how they have affected the Flamethrower.

Even the newly appointed CEO of the company, Shams Jorjani, appeared to apologize to players on Discord, saying that he received loads of comments and feedback from players about the weapons. He thanked the players for their constant support and assured them that internal discussions were going on.
Well, after the Railgun got nerfed and eventually turned into a piece of useless junk, Flamethrower took its place as one of the strongest weapons to beat enemies. Therefore, when this weapon got nerfed and lost its ability to kill Chargers, players started protesting against it, calling Arrowhead out for ruining the game.
Now that the developer is aware of the issue and has assured fans of a fix, there’s no option other than sitting quietly and waiting for it.
In the meantime, experience the new patch while going through other updates, like the upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, which seems to be a great competitor to Helldivers 2.
