It was among the most anticipated games of 2024, and fortunately, this game has fulfilled the expectations of players completely. If you are not fighting enemies in Helldivers 2, you will probably try to get some medals and unlock possible rewards. This process seems to be a straightforward one, but that’s actually not. Recently, a member of the Helldivers 2 community @HelldiversAlert shared a post on Twitter stating that a huge amount of medals are required to unlock all the rewards. The number is really an eye-watering one: 2701. The division is like:
- If you are doing it through the free pass, it requires 2015 medals
- If you are doing it through the paid version of the Warbond, it requires 686 medals.
Medals are kind of in-game currencies in Helldivers 2 that players need to get to progress through the game and unlock rewards through the timed progression system called Warbond. Though the name is different, it works similarly to the battle pass system in other games like COD or Fortnite. To progress through Warbond players need to complete objectives and challenges.
Medals are one of the most desired items in the game and destroying enemies will earn you these medals. Once you have enough Medals, players can change them into rewards, using the Warbond system.

However, hearing the number, most of the players are not surprised. In the comment section, a lot of them expressed that either they have completed the goal, or they are near to completing it, which shows how much players have been enjoying grinding through Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2’s First Balanced Update Patch Note Was Released, Nerfing Weapons
While the growth of Helldivers 2 is continuously increasing, Arrowhead has released the first balanced update patch note of the game. This patch note shows multiple adjustments, including nerfing several powerful weapons of the game. The Breaker and Railgun have gone through nerf that deceased their magazine capacity, and armor penetration respectively. On the other hand, Flamethrower’s per second damage receives a 50% damage. Along with it Laser Cannon and Punisher also get buffs.
Apart from that, the patch note reveals that the developers have added Planetary Hazards. This means, from now on, whenever you land on a planet, the environmental obstacles will be increased, and become random. So, players need to face more Fire Tornedos and Meteor Showers during their journey.
This balanced update has fixed a few issues, including, the bug holes that were unnecessarily problematic to destroy, the anti-aliasing toggle that was not working on PS5, increased visibility during Sand rain, etc., and several more. These fixes seem to heighten the gameplay experience of players.
