SUMMARY
  • As Space Marine 2's release date gets closer, the doubts among console players keep increasing.
  • With around 12 days to go before the game's launch, Focus Entertainment still hasn't revealed its console performance details.
  • Community hopes are decreasing as the publisher keeps tiptoeing around the questions.

With not even a full two weeks to go before Space Marine 2 finally hits the shelves and the Early Access phase kicking off even earlier, the community’s excitement levels seem to have been dampened due to the doubtful way in which developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have been revealing some crucial make-or-break information.

While the trailers and all of the footage that has come out regarding the upcoming Warhammer 40K title have showcased the game’s many qualities, it has only satisfied the PC gaming community, with console players still wondering how it would perform on current-gen consoles. Although Focus has finally broken its long silence on the Space Marine sequel’s console performance, it still has not shared anything substantial, leading fans to believe that something feels quite off about the whole situation.

Doubts Grow Among Space Marine 2 Console Fans After the Publisher’s Latest Statement

While PC players have been loving everything they have been shown so far, Space Marine 2 console fans are still being kept in the dark.
While PC players have been loving everything they have been shown so far, Space Marine 2 console fans are still being kept in the dark.

Focus Entertainment withholding information regarding Space Marine 2’s console performance becomes especially glaring when one looks at how vocal the publisher has been about many of the game’s new mechanics, weapons, and other aspects.

Interestingly, it did not feel like Focus was even planning on releasing its latest statement initially, as it actually showcased the Parry mechanic in the upcoming title with a short compilation on X, but at this point, fans do not seem like they are too thrilled about what they have been seeing because they just want the publisher to share how the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S would handle the game.

Not being able to ignore the questions any longer, Focus replied to a fan asking for details, such as the potential specifications at which the Space Marine sequel would run on current-gen consoles.

Considering that there are only around 12 days left before the Warhammer 40K franchise gets its next video game, the publisher’s brief response has made the community concerns even worse, as the tip-toeing answer reveals absolutely nothing about the console performance.

The Excitement Levels Among Warhammer 40K Fans Have Started to Dip Due to Focus Entertainment’s Answer

Fans believe that it is about time Focus Entertainment reveals the console performance details, with less than two weeks to go until release.

Shortly after the publisher’s iffy answer, the console players who had been looking forward to diving into the adventures of Captain Demetrian Titus became even more skeptical, as they feel like they are still being kept in the dark while the PC player base rests easy knowing how Space Marine 2 runs on its platform.

Focus Entertainment’s way of wording its response in particular received a lot of negative attention, as the Warhammer 40K fanbase thinks the publisher is not going to show any kind of PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S gameplay before the Space Marine sequel finally launches on September 9.

Considering that just a few days ago, during Gamescom 2024, it was confirmed that Space Marine 2 will support crossplay between all platforms, none of it seems to matter much when two out of the three player bases are still unsure of how things will play out for them and their consoles.

However, as Focus Entertainment has promised that at least some useful information is coming before release, perhaps the console performance details will be revealed any day now.
