PlayStation’s first State of Play event was hosted recently and this 40-minute event has showcased a few games and updates coming to PlayStation 5, this season. If you have watched the event, you must remember this time State of Play has included a few expected games, like Rise of Ronin, Death Stranding 2, Helldivers, Steller Blade, etc., but it has missed several renowned upcoming PlayStation titles that players have expected to be included.

This time the event included more than 15 games that are coming to PlayStation, but gamers were not satisfied as their favorite games couldn’t make it to the State of Play. On that note, if you try to sort out a few upcoming PlayStation games that should have in the event, you can check out the below list.

5. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

This is one of the most anticipated titles of 2024. Players have been waiting for this game for a long and the wait is about to end in a day as the game will be released on February 2, 2024. From the trailer of the game, it looks like one of the biggest releases on PlayStation this year, but surprisingly, the State of Play event didn’t show any new information on the game at all, and we expected it to be drumming up anticipation after a tumultuous road to release.

SUGGESTED: 5 Steam Releases You’ll Want to Pay Close Attention to this Month (February 2024)

However, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the latest installment in the Batman: Arkham series. The game is based on the DC Comics team Suicide Squad and features four supervillains: Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark. These characters are assigned the task of stopping the alien invader Brainiac and the members of the Justice League who are brainwashed by the enemies.

4. Concord

Concord

Concord is a super-hyped game that will be released in 2024. Being the first original AAA title developed by Firewalk Studios, it has created a wave of excitement among players. However, the latest State of Play shows that this excitement wave didn’t touch PlayStation authorities. They didn’t include this game in the event.

Concord is a multiplayer, first-person shooter game that will probably released on PC and PS5, but the developers haven’t yet made clear whether both versions releasing together or not. The developers have claimed and even the trailer shows the vibrant world of the game which includes colorful characters.

3. Pacific Drive

Pacific Drive

Pacific Drive is another game that players expected to see in the State of Play, but the event disappointed them. This upcoming survival game couldn’t make its place among the games showcased at the event last night. However, this in no way reduces players’ excitement. They are still waiting for this game.

Set in the Olympic Exclusion Zone in the Pacific Northwest, this game takes players on a journey where they have to traverse on foot or in a station wagon and escape the location. The world is full of metal monsters that will stick to their car and damage it. So, players must damage their vehicles from time to time. As players progress, they will explore new locations, blueprints, and crafting recipes to upgrade their vehicles to deal with stronger obstacles.

It’s only a few weeks left before you can finally jump into this thrilling survival experience. This game will be released on February 22, 2024.

2. Ghost of Tsushima 2

Ghost of Tsushima 2

If you have played Ghost of Tsushima, you are aware of how much gamers are waiting for the next part of this samurai-based action-adventure game. Though the development and release of Ghost of Tsushima 2 become a hot topic in the gaming world, there’s no news of this game’s development or release until now (at least when writing this). So, players expected the State of Play event would solve their confusion and talk about the Ghost of Tsushima 2 release, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

SUGGESTED: Rise of the Ronin, Helldivers & Three Other PlayStation Exclusives Worth Breaking the Bank For in 2024

Players have been speculating that Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be released at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. However, Sucker Punch is surprisingly silent about the highly-rumored game and whether it is coming this year or not.

1. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Fans probably got the biggest shock when they didn’t find Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in the State of Play event. The Final Fantasy series is one of the biggest action, role-playing series, and the upcoming installment Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming in February 2024. But this game didn’t make its place at the event last time.

Since the game was announced, Final Fantasy fans have been excited about this game and the game features. Set immediately after Remake’s events, this game will take players on a journey to prevent megacorporation Shinra from exploiting the resources of different Planets. The trailer looks promising, so players are willingly looking forward to diving into this journey.

These are the games that players have expected to see in the PlayStation State of Play event, but the event missed them. However, this doesn’t reduce the excitement and wait of the players. They have been waiting for these games and are still doing the same to embark on new adventures.
