First Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Trailer Drops and You’ll Understand Why Hogwarts Legacy Didn’t Include It
Quidditch Champions looks like it could be the definitive experience for Potter fans.
Harry Potter fans, rejoice. A new trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is here, and it’s time to hold out your right arm and ensure you have a firm grip on your broom for some action-packed online multiplayer matches with your favorite characters from J. K. Rowling’s magical story.
While Quidditch was noticeable only by its absence in 2023’s action RPG Hogwarts Legacy, it seems that Warner Bros. Games has finally decided to bring the ever-popular sport to consoles and PC under its Portkey Games label. With excellent graphics and art design, Quidditch Champions looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun to play with your friends, with an experience that stays true to the story that inspired it.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Could Build Its Own Legacy
Many Hogwarts Legacy fans lamented the absence of Quidditch in the game, feeling that a title that allowed you to roleplay a Hogwarts student should have included the sport in some form or the other. However, considering the sheer amount of activities for budding young wizards that the game had to offer, adding Qudditich to the mix may not have left enough creative space to do the sport justice.
Quidditch Champions is here to fill that void, however, as it offers a full-fledged experience complete with original characters from the iconic franchise along with buttery smooth gameplay that could allow players to zoom through pitches in various iconic locations from the Harry Potter universe. With big names like Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, and Cho Chang making an appearance, this is a title that Quidditch fans would certainly want to try out.
Time to Dust off Those Brooms
While the trailer could have used a bit of Lee Jordan’s snarky commentary, it looks like Quidditch Champions could allow Unbroken Studios to make its mark in Harry Potter’s world with excellent mechanics and a visual style that allows the game to capture the magic of the sport.
Reactions to the post below showing the new trailer are understandably positive, although some players are still not over the exclusion of Quidditch from Hogwarts Legacy. Yet, this trailer makes a good argument for making Quidditch a standalone game considering that including it in the game may have forced its developers to compromise on several details that could potentially elevate Quidditch Champions over other Potter-themed titles.
Some players who were lucky enough to have tried out the same during previous play tests vouch for its quality – making a good argument for a standalone Quidditch game.
Others are excited about the game having a single-player campaign mode in addition to online multiplayer.
PlayStation fans are extra happy about the game being available on PS Plus from the get-go.
While fans do not have to wait too long to find out if Quidditch Champions was worth excluding the sport from Hogwarts Legacy, it’s certain that many Harry Potter fans around the world are ready to channel their inner Oliver Wood when the game launches this September.
