Basically acting as Ed Boon’s continuation to the tag assist option introduced in Mortal Kombat 11, the base version of the latest installment came with 15 Kameo Fighters, with five more being added through the Kombat Pack.
However, as creator Ed Boon and his team at NetherRealm Studios gear up for the second year of Mortal Kombat 1, there seems to be a clear winner that fans want to see join the fighting game as a Kameo Fighter in Khaos Reigns.

With just over a month to go before Mortal Kombat 1 enters Year 2, it only makes sense for Ed Boon to have extensive discussions with his team regarding which characters to bring to the title next.
Perhaps the greatest advantage that the Mortal Kombat franchise has always had over its competitors in the fighting genre is its ability to bring back characters from the past while also bringing in fighters from other franchises in one tight package. From Kombat Pack inclusions like Homelander and Peacemaker to additional Kameo Fighters like Ferra and Tremor, the latest game in the series has had no shortage of a wide variety of characters at its player base’s disposal.
During a recent discussion with the NetherRealm Studios developers, Ed Boon and his team brought up various names that could be perfect additions to Mortal Kombat 1 as Kameo Fighters. These potential inclusions ranged from older Mortal Kombat characters like Blanche and Kidd Thunder to guest fighters like Chucky, but when Boon asked the fanbase about the addition that it is looking forward to the most, the answer was actually quite unsurprising.
Winning the poll by securing 39% of the overall votes, it looks like the Mortal Kombat fanbase really wants to see the superhero Invincible join in on the mayhem, which feels like a natural course of action considering that his father, Omni-Man, already made his way into the game as a Kombat Pack fighter in Year 1.
While Invincible May Be Winning the Poll, a Horror Icon Is Not That Far Behind
Witnessing Invincible team up with his supervillain dad would definitely be a sight to behold for Mortal Kombat 1 fans, but the main antagonist of the Child’s Play franchise seems to have quite the fanbase as well.
The results of Ed Boon’s poll show that there are plenty of players who want to see Chucky join the brutal universe of the fighting game, who managed to come in second place with 32% of the votes.
Similar to how Invincible’s inclusion feels natural thanks to Omni-Man already paving the way for his son, the horror icon could follow in the footsteps of the Scream antagonist Ghostface, who has already been confirmed to join Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kombat Pack fighter in Year 2.
While there are other characters that Mortal Kombat fans want added to the latest installment, it is definitely an exciting prospect to wonder which pop culture personalities Khaos Reigns and the following expansions could bring to NetherRealm Studios’ title next.
