The Destiny series is expanding but on a different platform. The rumors about the Destiny series getting a new instalment were in the air for a long time, but the official confirmation was pending. Now, with the confirmation, it is a sure thing that Bungie’s massively popular free-to-play shooter game will come to a new platform, holding the hands of NetEase.

NetEase is licensing the Destiny brand after its partnership with Bungie. Reportedly, the company invested around $100 million into the studio in 2018 due to this partnership. It’s been six years since all this happened, and as the latest updates show, NetEase is ready to bring a new game set in the Destiny universe.

Destiny players are going to get a new instalment in the series, which will expand the range of these games.

After the release of Destiny 2, players have been expecting Destiny 3 for a long time. However, all they got in return was nothing but disappointment. Anyway, even if not a sequel to the main series, they are about to get a new Destiny game on mobile devices.

Turning the rumors true, the Destiny franchise is heading to mobile devices with its upcoming title, Destiny Rising by NetEase. On October 14, the YouTube channel of the game received the official announcement trailer, which clearly stated that all the characters, events, and items of the game are under the license of Bungie.

The trailer looks impressive and is set in an alternate Destiny timeline before the emergence of Guardians. As shown, each playable character will have unique abilities and stories to explore and understand to make the experience enjoyable.

Additionally, the game will have single, co-op, and competitive multiplayer modes for players to enjoy the game as they prefer.

However, it seems like the Destiny community is not entirely happy with this upcoming game for certain reasons. While some are excited to get this game, a lot of players are not ready to welcome it.

Destiny Players Aren’t Ready to Welcome the Mobile Expansion of the Franchise

destiny rising announcement
Destiny Rising didn’t receive the expected response from gamers for several reasons.

As various updates and announcements reveal, Destiny Rising will come with both first-person and third-person views, along with campaign missions, six-player co-op modes, and replayable PvP and PvE modes. There will even be weapon varieties.

All these features should have been enough to attract the interest of gamers, but the upcoming NetEase game hasn’t had the greatest reception.

Most players are disappointed because they are getting a mobile game while they have been expecting Destiny 3

As the announcement trailer came, a group of players didn’t even hesitate to share their distaste for this game.

After watching the trailer, some even expressed that Sony and Bungie are destroying the Destiny series.

Of course, not all the reactions are negative.

Some gamers are willing to try this game out, and others are sure that it will have the coolest cosmetic items.

However, whether this game will really shine like the main instalments will soon be revealed when the playtest of the game starts in November.
