It’s been more than three years since Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was released on Windows, and the news of the next installment has been circulating in the gamer community for a long time. Crash Bandicoot series has been running for more than two decades, with multiple successful installments. However, a recent update from the game designer of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Nicholas Kole, has shattered the chances of launching Crash Bandicoot 5. In a way, he confirmed that Microsoft had canceled the game. 

Recently, on Twitter, Nicholas Kole shared a post about one of their canceled project and then commented that a few years of hard work didn’t work, and finally, Project Dragon has been canceled. Along with that, he added, soon fans will hear that “the Crash 5 that never was,” and it will break their hearts.

This almost confirmed the news that Crash Bandicoot 5 is not coming. At least, players have assumed it like this, and of course, they are not happy with it. @MrHeeHee3 expressed his frustration and said it was the chance for Microsoft to save Activision and give fans a high-quality Spyro and Crash game. 

Following his tone, the comment section of the post is full of comments where players have expressed their anger at Microsoft for making wrong decisions in recent times.

Whether the cancellation news is true or not is not officially confirmed. So, there may be a little hope to get the game.

After Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, fans expected a lot from their partnership. However, the expectations got multiple hits, including the unofficial information that Crash Bandicoot 5 got canceled. So, they are not happy, for sure.

As soon as the news circulated, players started assuming the reasons behind the decision by Microsoft. While some think the game never progressed beyond the concept stage, others assume that there must have been some serious issues during development, and that’s why the project got canceled.

Aside from these assumptions, the frustration among the players is prevalent. Someone said Microsoft is doing the opposite of what players think it will do.

Some players are even more angry and have called Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision the worst thing.

However, some players are still with Microsoft and said that Toys for Bob is an independent studio. So, there’s no way Microsoft is responsible for the cancellation. 

The news of Crash Bandicoot 5 is not yet confirmed, as Kole didn’t mention anything specific. So, we have to wait and see what’s happening.
