- It is a part of the last few updates for the game in the run-up to Black Ops 6.
The final season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is underway and it brings a lot of new content and changes to the game. However, one of its new Operator skins has stolen the limelight with its morbid way of referencing previous titles and events in the franchise, and fans are sure to enjoy its terrifying appearance this Halloween.
The skin in question is the Alone skin, which features as many as three different faces of Simon “Ghost” Riley along with an amalgamation of arms from members of Task Force 141 in what could be the most unsettling addition to Modern Warfare 3 in its history.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Brings on the Scares
The Alone skin is for Operators belonging to the KorTac faction and is a “zombified mutation” of Riley featuring three heads and six arms. While the heads feature masks Riley has worn at different points in the game’s narrative, the arms belong to Task Force 141 members Gaz, Price, and Soap.
The new skin’s look is among the scariest ones that have been introduced to the game and is sure to be better received than the Hawk skin for Soap which drew a lot of flak for its design when it was introduced. While it is certainly a morbid way to give a nod to beloved characters and memorable events from Call of Duty, it is quite effective as a Halloween costume for players to use in the game.
Modern Warfare 3 Signs off in Style
Modern Warfare 3‘s recent updates have leaned towards horror-oriented content with the Alone skin joining The Crow skin, which was released in the Season 5 Reloaded update. Activision has certainly gone all out to end its latest season on a high in the run-up to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s highly anticipated release.
The post below showcases the new skin in all its glory while reactions to it highlight just how unsettling it is to Modern Warfare 3 players.
It seems that Activision’s efforts are bearing fruit, with some players returning to the new season just to experience playing as Alone.
Another player’s reaction to the new skin is not what their fellow gamers might be going for and certainly not what Activision would have expected when it first conceptualized it on the drawing board.
Other players bring more practical concerns to the table, wondering how using the new skin in the field could affect Modern Warfare 3’s gameplay loop.
It’s evident that the new Alone skin will be one that stays with its players long after they move on from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 once the franchise’s latest installment takes over.
One can only wonder what Activision has in store for its next title, but it is sure to continue flexing its creative chops with aplomb.
