Call of Duty: Mobile Removes Shoot House and Alcatraz to ‘make room for something awesome’
Call of Duty Mobile is one of the most popular mobile games across the world, especially for those who can’t afford to purchase the PC versions of the COD games. However, often TiMi Studio does things that take the game to the top of the discussion. Recently, fans have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, as the release date of this game is only a few days away. Amidst their wait, again COD Mobile has done something big that probably no one hoped for. They have removed two of the game’s most popular maps: Shoot House and Alcatraz.

Removing maps from games is not something new in COD games. All COD games, including COD Mobile, has done that quite a few times, and players rarely take these decisions positively. On March 12, 2024, COD Mobile community got the surprising news that the two most favorite maps are leaving the game. Shoot House used to be the best multiplayer map and Alcatraz was the most crowded battle royale map in the game. Unfortunately, both bid goodbye together.
Very clearly, fans haven’t taken this decision cheerfully. In the comment section, they have unanimously agreed to the point that it will ruin the game. While most players expressed that this is time to stop playing Call of Duty Mobile, they even mentioned it as the worst decision made in Call of Duty Mobile’s history.

This decision has created chaos in the community. So, to handle the situation, concerned authorities have shared their plans with players through a Twitter post, where they have revealed that this is not a permanent removal. Instead, these maps will later return to the game, as part of, “rotating in and out each season like other playlists in the game.”
The post only says that these maps will come back later this year, but when will players get Shoot House and Alcatraz again is not sure. Additionally, players have been assuming that these maps have been withdrawn because of Warzone Mobile.
Are Shoot House and Alcatraz Coming to COD: Warzone Mobile?
Since the decision went viral, Call of Duty Mobile fans are trying to assume the exact reason behind it. While a group of fans think that these maps are removed because of the Rebirth Island map of Warzone Mobile, another group thinks that these two maps will come to Warzone Mobile later. Well, none of this information is confirmed as the official announcement only said that these maps will come back later this year. No reason for removing them was stated. Also, there’s no official declaration of these two maps to make their way to Warzone Mobile.
A follow-up Tweet has requested players to stay tuned as new content will keep coming to Call of Duty Mobile. However, this doesn’t seem to have convinced players as they are still worried about the future of COD Mobile, after the removal of Alcatraz, the most popular battle royale map of the game. While Warzone Mobile will definitely give the battle royale experience of COD Mobile strong competition, the removal of the map will only make their way easy.
