Bosses Be Gone: How to Defeat the Enlightened Omen in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape
The Enlightened Omen waits for you at the end of a long trek through the Pale Heart in Destiny 2: The Final Shape's second story mission.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape puts the Guardians in direct conflict with the narrative’s main antagonist, The Witness, to bring an epic conclusion to the war between Light and Darkness. Released to critical success, The Final Shape is the culmination of a long line of expansions for Destiny 2 and continues to take the game forward in terms of the experience it offers its players.
With new mechanics, enemy types, bosses, and story beats in play, The Final Shape takes the best of what has made Destiny 2 great over the years and blends them into a cohesive gameplay loop that is not only enjoyable and engaging but is unique enough to stand out from the competition.
Bonds Much Stronger Than Blood
In the aftermath of the expansion’s first mission that sees your Guardian and their team reunited with Nathan Fillion’s returning character Cayde-6, Crow seems to be facing an internal crisis that could see him making a decision he might later regret.

It’s up to you and your team of allies to join his Ghost Glint on a mission to The Pale Heart to prevent him from doing so. This begins the second mission of The Final Shape that’s ominously titled Temptation. Expect a lot of twists and turns as you make your way through the level, and some challenging boss encounters along the way. The Enlightened Omen is one such boss, standing between you and your objective in the mission.
Bosses Be Gone: How to Defeat the Enlightened Omen in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape
Right off the bat, you are introduced to a terrifying new enemy called The Tormentor, a massive Knight that can cause a lot of pain if you get in the way of his aggressive melee attacks with his Scythe, or long-range attacks. However, the level design in this area allows you to use balconies with clear sightlines to attack him from relative safety, targeting weak points on his chest and shoulders.
The next challenge you face is a puzzle that can be, well, puzzling if you don’t know what to look out for. Glint points you towards a dark cave protected by a Psionic Shield you need to power down that’s linked to three Psionic Conduits that sustain it. We have a guide to solving this puzzle if you find yourself stumped by it.

Past the cave, your way is now blocked by another boss fight against the Pillar of Denial, a fairly easy encounter if you play it safe by attacking from long range. Use the hill behind you to take out enemies from an elevated position while you whittle away at the boss’ health.
It’s time to face off against the Enlightened Omen. You should look out for a Rally Point that signals the presence of the boss ahead. This fight is fairly easy as long as you are familiar with the game’s mechanics and are prudent in your use of Transcendence and your special attacks. A few grenades can also come in handy for this encounter.
To begin preparing to face off against the Enlightened Omen, first pop the Witness Affliction in the arena with a quick shot from your weapon. This puts down a Prismatic Flare for you to use when you need to, making the fight a lot easier.
The fight begins with a wave of Bound enemies whom you will need to take out. It begins with a couple of Grims spawning on the left and right of the arena, followed by more Bound enemies once they are taken down. Finishing them off with Transcendence spawns the next wave, with more Grims and Bound enemies for you to take out in order to summon the Enlightened Omen.
The Enlightened Omen is just a suped-up version of the Dread enemy type, with attack patterns that are fairly easy to counter against with specials and grenades. However, it can be dangerous considering the limited space you have to stay on the move and the continuous addition of Grims and Bound enemies who rally to the boss’ side.
Take the fight slowly and carefully, using the Prismatic Flare to keep up your Transcendence, unleashing specials whenever you find an opening to hurt the boss. The cave you entered through has a wall you can hide behind if things get too frenetic, allowing you some breathing room and the opportunity to pick off a few enemies from a safe spot before you re-enter the fight.
With the Enlightened Omen out of the way, simply follow the waypoint on your map to finally catch up with Crow and watch the next part of the story unfold in the concluding cutscene of the Temptation mission.
With the Enlightened Omen now a thing of the past, you are ready to continue your journey through the new expansion in Destiny 2.
