So, the latest Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape, is no different. Being one of the biggest expansions the game ever received, The Final Shape has brought loads of new content, including new boss fights. Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning is one of the toughest among them.
The more players progress through the main campaign and complete quests, the more they encounter challenging enemies. This is an undeniable fact in every shooter game, and Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning, is the final boss to fight in The Final Shape campaign. Therefore, players struggling to fight this enemy is not at all surprising. In this guide, we will give players all the best fighting strategies to beat him faster.
Where to Find Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape
If you are a veteran Destiny player, you must be aware that bosses in this game are generally part of the campaign missions. The Final Shape has well-maintained this tradition and brought some powerful enemies to fight during missions. Therefore, Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning, will appear as part of the final mission of the DLC campaign, named Iconoclasm.
This is one of the most challenging missions of the DLC, which is filled with powerful enemies and obstacles throughout the journey. The main objective of the mission is to find a way to defeat the Witness in the memory of the ritual site where it was created. This journey is long and can eliminate players a few times along the way.
As you progress further through the mission, you will eventually encounter the Eshkin’Tuk, Witness’s Blessed boss, and upon defeating it, players will find a newly opened pathway. Follow it, and you will soon reach a room with the unique statues of three Guardian classes. Proceed through them, and you will soon reach the battle arena of Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning.
Once you face the boss, there’s no way to escape the fight. So, you must be prepared for a hard fight to complete the mission.
Bosses Be Gone: How to Defeat Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape
When the fight begins, initially, you won’t be able to hit the boss successfully because of his shield. Now that you have come this far, you must remember seeing this boss using the defensive shields that prevent players from hitting him. This encounter shouldn’t be different from the previous ones. Once again, players need to focus on dealing with other enemies first and figure out the way to break the shield.
As soon as the fight begins, two Taken Blights will spawn on your right and left sides. So, the first thing to focus on is to destroy the Blights and the Bound foes as early as possible. Use the Prismatic Pools that appear underneath the Blights to destroy them.
Once this is done, the next step is to locate the Darkness Splinter. Players will find it in the middle of the room. Keep shooting it until it is destroyed. Immediately after that, a portal will appear. Use the portal to go to the new arena. This new location will be a bit confusing for the players, but a lot more dangerous. Firstly, the new area will be dark and have a maze layout, which is tough to figure out.
However, these are not the primary reasons for the area being dangerous. In this new dark, and confined area, even the air can kill you if you are not protected. So, as soon as you have destroyed the Darkness Splinter, make sure to destroy the Darkness node next to it. This will give you the Shielded from Darkness buff. Activate it before going inside the portal to survive in the toxic air.
Unfortunately, the buff exists for only 40 seconds, which is not enough to complete your task. Don’t worry; in this new location as well, you will spot several Darkness nodes to shoot and get the same buff to survive. In the corners of the room, you will find them. Anyway, the main goal here is to kill the Resonant Warder Knights. These knights will drop two glyph icons, which are hard to miss because of their structure. Memorize the symbols and get back to the boss arena.

Once you are in the fighting arena, you will see two glyphs on either side of the room. Approach them, and you will get an alert that will confirm that “A Warder’s Glyph has been nullified.” Now the boss is vulnerable, with almost no defense left. Grab the Light Aegis spawned in the room and use your Super Energy to start dealing damage to him.
Once the first phase ends, the second phase of the fight begins, and players need to repeat the same process to make the boss defenseless and start dealing damage to him. This fight will take some time, for sure. But don’t lose your patience and take the wrong step. In the second phase, players need to go to the basement to get the Glyphs and break the shield of the enemy. As you empty the health bar of the boss in the second phase, the enemy will die.
That’s everything players should know about fighting the Dolgith, Blade of Reasoning in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape. This fight is undoubtedly challenging, and even the slightest mistake can ruin their entire effort. So, be very careful during this entire process, and eventually, you will take the boss down if you follow the steps properly.
