SUMMARY
  • Shadows is not the only game in the Assassin's Creed series that Ubisoft is reportedly going to launch in 2025.
  • Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is about to get a remake, and that's also probably in as early as 2025.
  • Fans don't seem to be entirely satisfied with this news, as they have started judging Ubisoft for its failures.

In Ubisoft’s hardest time, the Assassin’s Creed series seems to be the savior. While initially, speculations said Assassin’s Creed Shadows would turn the table for the company, a recent leak suggests that a remake is also on its way to do the same.

Since the beginning of 2024, the rumor of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag getting a remake version has been circulating in the community. However, no concrete news was ever released to prove this true. A recent leak has changed this scenario with some updates, and according to it, the remake is not only coming, but it is releasing sooner than players expected.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Is Receiving a Remake Next Year

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is getting a remake earlier than anyone had expected.

The hypothesis of this game getting a remake was generated in 2023 when some rumors stated that Ubisoft Singapore was involved with the development because of its experience in making Skull and Bones. Even earlier this year, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot said that several remakes are under development.

Recently, a report about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag getting a remake has confirmed the rumor. According to the report, the game is in development under the code name “Obsidian.”

Initially, it was planned to be released around November 2025. But it will probably face some delay as the date was set before Assassin’s Creed Shadows faced its unexpected postponement

Not only this one, but per the report, the multiplayer game in the Assassin’s Creed series, which has also been speculated to be in development with the code name Invictus, was also scheduled around the same time.

Well, the report concluded by saying that according to sources, the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will impact the release schedule of all other Assassin’s Creed games in 2025.

So, at this point, it is hard to say whether the game will still be launched in 2025 or postponed. But one thing is for sure: the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake will come much earlier than fans have speculated, even if it comes in 2026.

Since this announcement came, Assassin’s Creed fans are kind of divided into different opinions about this remake.

Ubisoft Has Lost Fans’ Trust to a Great Extent With Massive Failures

The Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake can’t please Ubisoft fans entirely, as they have lost faith in the company.

Ubisoft is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the gaming world, but currently, the company has been going through a tough situation. At this point, when fans’ support is most required, they are kind of showing an unexpected attitude.

On X, fans criticized Ubisoft for making some of the worst games in recent times and then trying to remake a good game.

Some even compared Ubisoft with Rockstar and wondered whether it was also going to follow the same track of letting the base game down with remakes.

A few of them even requested the developer to leave the game alone without ruining it.

Of course, a substantial number of players are looking forward to getting the game, but the negative reactions show players have lost confidence in Ubisoft.

Some players are even upset about the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake because it will probably clash with GTA 6.

Well, that may be the case, but none of these two games have received a launch date. Therefore, at this point, these are all speculations.
