“I think this is the first time that I didn’t”: Asmongold’s First Stream Back After Ban Is an Explosive One
Asmongold had a lot to say during the livestream that marked his return to Twitch after a two-week ban.
- One of Asmongold's channels was banned from Twitch due to some insensitive remarks by the streamer.
- Two weeks later, the ban has been lifted, and the streamer has returned with an introspective livestream.
- Asmongold extensively addressed the situation and talked about how the suspension has changed his mindset.
Around two weeks ago, one of the most popular Twitch streamers, Asmongold, found himself surrounded by immediate controversy due to some of his comments during a livestream. Not only did he receive a lot of backlash from his audience, but his statements also went against the streaming platform’s rules and regulations, resulting in one of his channels getting temporarily suspended and him being banned from posting any new content there.
However, now that the streamer’s ban has been lifted, he made a comeback with yet another stream, but this time around, he seemed to have received a change in his general perception of life and the actions that got him in trouble in the first place.
Asmongold Returns to Twitch and Has Had Enough Time to Contemplate
For those unaware of how the Twitch streamer found himself in such a scenario with the streaming platform that hosts his content, during a livestream, he decided to give his two cents on the currently ongoing war in Gaza, specifically making insensitive remarks towards Palestine and its people.
These discriminatory comments were naturally not met with the greatest reception, leading to some members of the community believing that the punishment that Twitch gave the streamer should have been more severe. Around two weeks have passed since that took place, and Asmongold marked his return to streaming by directly addressing the situation and how the ban has actually proven to be a much-needed wake-up call for him.
This was not the first time that the streamer had been called out for his online behavior during his livestreams, and Asmongold has acknowledged that there have been plenty of instances where he has let his aggression and “rage” get the better of him, resulting in the outbursts that he is apparently not too proud of.
“I think this is the first time I didn’t,” stated the streamer in response to individuals who accused Asmongold of giving in and negating his own opinion by apologizing to his audience on Reddit, as he continued to contemplate the decisions that led him to this moment.
The Streamer’s Introspection Fails to Find Many Believers
Although Asmongold talked about his changed outlook on life quite extensively, many members of the community do not really believe that the claims are completely genuine.
People have pointed out that having such a drastic shift in one’s mindset is not realistically possible in the short time that has passed since the incident initially took place, stating that the introspection is all for show and does not seem authentic.
Others think that Asmongold has too much at stake given the nature of his profession, so in an effort to stay on good terms with his hosting platform Twitch and the audience that keeps his channels going, the streamer will say anything that the general public wants to hear.
Asmongold has never been reluctant to give his controversial opinions on various topics, including one that backfired on him when he criticized the protagonist in the upcoming Ghost of Yotei on the basis of an initial trialer, but only future livestreams will tell if the ban has actually managed to change the streamer.
