If you are a fan of survival horror games, Alone in the Dark gives you a golden chance to revisit a classic ‘90 game. The latest game is the seventh installment in the series, but over everything, it is the reimagination of the 1992 original game Alone in the Dark. Each chapter of the game is shrouded with mysteries and puzzles. Therefore, it is pretty normal that players will get stuck while trying to solve the puzzles of the chapter.

After Chapter 1, when players will start their Chapter 2 journey, a lot of questions will surround them regarding what is happening and where is Jeremy. The answers require lots of exploration and puzzle-solving. So, this guide will give players a detailed walkthrough of the chapter along with the solution to the puzzles.

Chapter 2 Detailed Walkthrough- Solving Well Puzzle and Perosi’s Painting Puzzle

Once Chapter 2 begins, players need to make their way to the Clerk’s Office from the reception area. Search the area thoroughly and you will receive a bunch of clues, including Broken Plates, Room Key, Staff & Patient Directory, and Repairing the Boiler clue. There’s even a safe and a few patient files to check. If you want to unlock the safe put L9 R1 L3. This is the code that you need to find, but we are just trying to help you out. 

Once these are all collected, players will be back to the main story and again they have to return to Stair Hall and Piazza. Take a right from the library and use the Batiste’s Keys to open the door. Immediately a cutscene with Ruth will be initiated, and following it, players will find the Lost Plantations of Louisiana clue on a small table.

Exit the room and as you try to make your way to the conservatory through the parlor, the scenario instantly changes into an anomaly. The room will be filled with oil and the furniture will create a maze. Navigate through the oil and on the table near the window, you will find bolt cutters. Cut the lock on the door and the anomaly will be gone. 

A cut scene will begin, after which players need to interact with the hole in the garden and discover a Mummified Cat. Next, they have to connect a water hose extension to the yellow water hose next to the well and move the faucet below the Piazza to the right to fill the well.

Again get back to the reception area and find the way to the administration. Use Batiste’s Keychain to unlock the door and once inside, players will receive Perosi’s Room key. Make your way to the room, unlock it, and on the sofa, you will find Perosi’s Journal with Zodiac Signs and Numbers. From the paintings, you will find William Arges, Franklyn Mosig, and Simone Danny.

Next, check the wall with the family tree. Here you will see William is number 2, Simone is number 4, and Franklin is number 9. Combining these two clues, the code you find for the lock will be Pisces, Libra, and Taurus. Put this code on the drawer lock and the puzzle is solved. Pick up the Disc Fragment for the Astronomical Clock and progress towards the next.

Chapter 2 Walkthrough- Solve the Medicine Bottle and Boiler Room Puzzle

Now that you have the disc fragments, use the broken plates on the Astronomical clock. Solving the right side puzzle will reveal the talisman code, which is 3-4-6. Put it from outside to inside and the puzzle will be solved. Return to the hallway you came from, and on the left side you will see the Baptiste’s door is now open. Enter the room and it will eventually lead players to the Oil Rig.

Exit the room and make your way to the warehouse. Eventually, you will locate a bridge that needs to be lowered down, but the lever is missing. Search the location and the rooms for Jetty Key. It is time to exit the warehouse and enter the house across the road. There you will find the lever you need to lower the bridge. Once you exit the house through the back door, you have to survive through the enemy hordes to return to Derceto.

Once there, again make your way to the Astronomical Clock.This time you have to solve the medicine bottle puzzle. One bottle will be found on the table in the middle room. For the next ones, you have to go to the Grand Parlor. The Medicine Box Key will be found on the top of the Piano. 

Visit Lottie’s room to unlock the Medicine Box and return to Cassandra’s room. Again you have to solve a Zodiac puzzle. This time the code will be Pisces, Gemini, and Leo. Put it on the lock and get the disc fragment.

Your next destination is the Boiler Room. However, before you open the door, you need to solve a puzzle and find the lever to stop the gas leak. The lever will be found in the Celler Room that can be unlocked using the Celler Key that you have to pick up from the Drawing room. On a shelf, you will find the lever. Pick it up and place it in the electricity box to access the next area. 

As you progress through the water, you will pick up a Valve that will be required to be inserted in the Boiler. There you need to interact with an NPC which will trigger an anomaly. It will generate another Disc Fragment. Return to the boiler and place the fragments to solve the puzzle. Add the talisman to the disc and put 9-7-5 to solve the puzzle and open the way to the cemetery.

Explore this area properly to get three medallions. Place them in the Chapel Door to initiate a cutscene and immediately after that players will again get back to Derceto.
