Hidetaka Miyazaki has been a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry ever since Dark Souls was released in 2011. With a host of successful titles under his belt since then, he has managed to deliver a unique experience with each game that he produces.

His unique narrative style and challenging gameplay mechanics have seen FromSoftware pioneer an entirely new genre of punishing games that have an entire community of fans that cannot get enough of them – even as others find them too difficult to get through. Miyazaki stays true to his vision, however, choosing to believe in his players’ ability to surmount any challenge he throws at them.

Elden Ring’s unique approach to an action RPG continues with its recent DLC.

Elden Ring has been a major part of Miyazaki’s journey, an amalgamation of all the unique ideas and gameplay elements that he brought to his previous titles. Miyazaki believes there is more to be done, however, stating that he is considering taking things up a notch with future releases.

SUGGESTED: Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree is Not Only the Best DLC Ever, but the 2nd Best Soulsborne Experience FromSoft has Ever Released, and It’s a Fact

His collaboration with popular author George R.R. Martin to create Elden Ring’s lore notwithstanding, Miyazaki seems to be open to the idea of another collaboration with other authors for future projects – and seems to be on board with the idea of his games being brought to life in other media too!

A True Master of His Craft

Miyazaki is known for his compelling narratives and unique art styles.

In a recent interview, Miyazaki dived into his design process, stating that he prefers not to play any of his games once they are released as he often finds details that he believes could be improved, which prove to be quite annoying to him.

SUGGESTED: Elden Ring Includes a Connection to Dark Souls 3 That Continues Through to Shadow of the Erdtree

He goes on to elaborate on how Elden Ring has been a magnum opus of sorts on both personal and professional fronts, diving into how the action RPG pushed FromSoftware to the limits of its capabilities. He believes that the future includes having multiple projects with some fresh talent at the helm even as he continues to implement his unique style in each of them.

When quizzed about the possibility of an Elden Ring film adaptation, which should not be too surprising considering the game’s immense popularity, Miyazaki had quite the curveball in store for his fans. He remains open to seeing The Lands Between brought to life in cinemas as long as he does not have to direct it.

That’s because Miyazaki remains as humble as ever, stating that games are his area of expertise. He is, however, interested in seeing his work come to life on the big screen as long as he can find the right partner to helm the project.

Whatever the future holds for Miyazaki and Elden Ring, his many fans around the world are certainly waiting with bated breath to find out.
