So, it is normal that you are looking for some help to complete the Act 3 quests. Therefore, if you are unsure of how to complete Paint the Target mission, this guide will help you with a detailed walkthrough.
If you are trying to complete the story of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, you must progress through these missions. But before all, you must know the objectives that you must complete.
What are the Paint the Target Mission Objectives in MW3 Zombies?
Mission is the most thrilling part of COD games. If you have been playing the Call of Duty series for a long time already, you must know that missions are the best way to acquire some valuable rewards that are almost impossible to acquire otherwise. But you must take up a mission with prior preparations and for that, you must know the objectives.
So, if you are trying to complete the Paint the Target mission, check out the below objectives:
- Kill 20 Mercenaries with Precision Airstrike
- Hit a Mercenary Convoy with a Precision Airstrike
- Hit a Mercenary Camp with a Precision Airstrike
These tasks may seem challenging, but they are the easiest ones if you get the exact process to complete them.
Guide to Complete Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Paint the Target Act 3 Tier 2 Mission
If you have noticed the objectives carefully, you haven’t probably missed that all three missions require Precision Airstrikes. So, these are not missions that you can jump on immediately after joining a match. Therefore, let’s check the way to get Precision Airstrikes.
Precision Airstrikes can’t be found randomly here and there. Instead, they must be purchased from the Buy Stations using 5000 Essence. The price is heavy, right? Well, it’s tough to have 5000 Essence at your disposal in the beginning. So, it requires some grind for cash before you start the mission.
To grind cash, nothing can be a better option than Aether Nests. Clear a few Aether Nests and you will probably get enough money to have at least one Precision Airstrike to start the mission. Apart from that, you can complete a few contracts to gather some cash. The fact is that one Precision Airstrike is not enough to complete all three objectives. You need at least two.
Once you have collected the required airstrikes, start with the mission. You can complete the objectives in any order. The order doesn’t matter. It’s just that you must complete three objectives.

Though you can start the mission with the Mercenary kills, we would recommend focusing on locating Mercenary Covoy and Camp. Your first objective will be completed with them as both of these activities kill some mercenaries. Mercenary Convoys spawn randomly anywhere and players must look for them on the map and reach it before someone else clears it.
Generally, the highway next to the Zaravan Suburbs has a convoy passing in every match. So, drive a vehicle and wait there for it to spawn. Once you find the convoy, fire on it to distract the attention and cause it to stop. Once the convoy stops, place the Precision Airstrike on it to complete your second objective. In this process, a few mercenaries will be killed contributing toward your first objective. However, if somehow you don’t find the convoy here, you can roam around the map and complete cargo missions to check if you find a convoy. This process will take the most time.
Next, you must locate a Mercenary Camp. Mercenary Camps are easy to locate and the map will have plenty of them scattered here and there. You can mark any of them, but it will be best if you mark one in the low-threat zone. This makes things easy to handle. Once you mark a mercenary camp, travel to the location. Don’t get too close. It is better if you can hide behind a cover and place the Precision Airstrike on the camp to destroy it. The Mercenary Camps is full of mercenaries and of course zombies. So, it is better if you watch out for the enemies and don’t die midway. It will complete your third objective, along with giving you multiple kills to complete your first objective of killing 20 mercenaries using a Precision Airstrike.

Though these two objectives should give you enough kills to complete the first objective of the mission, if they are not enough, players must grind again for some cash and get another Precision Airstrike to get the remaining kills. The process will be the same. Either clear an Aether Nest or complete contracts to have Essence. Go to a Buy Station and get a Precision Airstrike. Find another Mercenary Camp and repeat the process to kill mercenaries. We hope this time, it will help you reach your target. Once you are done, you will get rewards.
Rewards for Completing Paint the Target Mission in Act 3 Tier 2
CoD missions can’t be imagined without rewards. These rewards are the main attractions of a COD game and MW3 Zombies is no exception. No matter which mission you complete, you will get some rewards for sure. So, if you have completed all the objectives of the Paint the Target mission, you will receive the following rewards:
- Tombstone Soda Can
- 2500XP
Both these items are excellent rewards, especially the Tombstone Soda Can. Players are already aware of what XP does in COD, but if you are not sure what to do with Tombstone Soda Can, let me tell you, it will create a tombstone to protect your loot if you die. So, your loot will be safe until your next deployment. That means you will not lose anything after death. This will be a massive help in the high tiers.
That’s all you need to know about how to complete the Paint the Target mission in Act 3 Tier 2. This mission can be easily done in solo mode without any help. So, if you haven’t brought any teammates, it is okay for this mission.
