How to Defeat Warlord in MW3 Zombies?
Powerful bosses are the most exciting part of Call of Duty games, especially the Modern Warfare series. Naturally, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is no exception to this tradition. The Zombies mode has brought loads of missions and activities to the game, and defeating the Warlord is among them. Taking this powerful enemy down will not only help you complete the ‘Storm the Castle’ mission but also access high-end equipment and the third Wonder Weapon.
This is indeed tempting, right? But the process of taking down this boss is not easy. That will require a wonderful blend of skill and strategy. Additionally, there’s a major catch in the process: the boss is locked up in his castle and not marked on the tac-map. So, confused about how to deal with him? Don’t worry, we are here to help you.
Location of the MW3 Zombies Warlord
While trying to locate a boss, players generally rely on the markers on the map. But as this can’t be an option in the case of the Warlord, you need some footwork and search to find him. As a powerful leader of the mercenary force present in Urzikstan, this boss can’t be found randomly on the map. His spawn location is fixed. To find him, you have to invade the Legacy Fortress. This may seem straightforward as veteran players have broken into different castles and strongholds before, but this time it is not a piece of cake.
To enter the Legacy Fortress, first, one must determine its location, and second, get the Fortress key. On the map, you will find the spawn location of the boss on the top left side at the D2 coordinate. To be more precise, you will find the Leagcy Fortress within the orange circle that denotes medium threat zones. Now that you have located the Legacy Fortress, you have to access the key to complete the mission.
Legacy Fortress Key Location
The first step to acquiring the key is to find a Mercenary Camp or Mercenary Convoy. Your aim is to clear the Camp to get a Mercenary Stronghold key and access a Mercenary Stronghold. These areas generally contain low-level enemies that players can take down easily. However, a few of them may give you a hard time. Once you have cleared out the camp, you will get the key from the chest in the middle of the camp. Alternatively, if you are not interested in fighting these camp enemies, purchase the stronghold key from a Buy Station. It cost 2,000 Essence.
Once you get the stronghold key, you have to locate a stronghold on the tac-map. Travel to the location and use the key to open the door. This will be tricky to clear as the enemies will be a little more challenging. The stronghold must have a safe, that players have to drill. It will take a few seconds, but once the drilling process is over, you’ll get the Legacy Fortress Keycard from inside.
Now, before players progress to fight the boss, one thing they should note is that this entire mission must be done in one go. If you are planning to exfil with the keycard to add it to your inventory permanently and come back in the next game to fight the boss, let me tell you, it won’t work. If you exfil with the keycard, it will convert into XP.
Therefore, in the next game, you have to repeat the process to get it again. Also, this boss fight process may require an entire match, so we recommend starting with the process as soon as you land on the map. Once you get the keycard, immediately head to the Legacy Fortress to fight the boss.
How to Defeat Warlord in MW3 Zombies?
Once you get the keycard, it’s time to go for the final fight. Before you enter the Fortress, we suggest you stock up on ammo, and health items, especially shields, pack-a-punch your weapons, and have the most suitable perks equipped to all the weapons. Given that it is a medium-threat zone, you will face waves of formidable enemies. So, preparation must be done as a priority.
Additionally, it is not a good idea to fight the boss alone. Solo players can do the mission, but that will be much more challenging. On the location, high-level enemies and even helicopters will welcome you with considerable damage. So, bring at least one teammate to back you up.
The enemy leader is guarded by loads of NPCs and traps. So, you have to first deal with each of them to access the main building. Now, use the key to open the door and enter. The Warlord is located upstairs, and that requires you to pass through multiple traps, including inflatable decoys, claymores, anti-personnel mines, suppression mines, and gas grenades.
You will finally locate the Warlord inside the office on the top floor. The boss hides behind a big cabinet. He has tons of Semtex Grenades and a Dragon Breather Shotgun. Both deal hefty damage. So, first, ensure your defense and then start the attack. The enemy leader is heavily armored. So, don’t waste your ammo shooting its body. Instead, target its head. Warlord wears no helmet, so the best spot players can target to take him down is the head. A few shots on his head are enough to take him down. This may take a few minutes, but play wisely with proper strategy to complete your mission. Don’t rush or you may die.
On that note, remember one thing: throughout the entire process, make sure you don’t die. Even if you die at the last stage of the fight, you still have to start everything from the beginning. There’s no alternative to it. So, make your distance from the Warlord, keep watching for his attacks, and keep moving so, you don’t get shot.
Once you take the Warlord down, he will drop valuable loot. Players can loot his body to find high-tier equipment. Also, if you have killed him as part of the Storm the Castle Act mission, the boss will drop Strauss’s research. Pick it up to complete the mission. It will give you the Conqueror achievement. Furthermore, a locked door will open in the same room. The room has a reward rift which will reward you. However, the reward spawns randomly, so we can’t guarantee what you will get. Finally, reach the nearest exfil point to leave the map with the rewards.
