Stellar Blade has many interesting side activities for its players that help break up the action for some well-earned respite. Some of these are certainly more relaxing than the others. There’s no denying that they are rewarding, too.

Fishing in Stellar Blade is an interesting chain of side quests with a character that Eve encounters as she explores the world. With different varieties of fish and unique mechanics to uncover, it’s time to cast out some lines.

Teaching an Angel to Fish

Fishing in Stellar Blade is a lot of fun.

As Eve slowly learns about life in Xion and begins to help its many residents, she begins to explore its outskirts, coming across the vast Wastelands. As she makes her way across the Great Desert, she comes across an Oasis where she meets Clyde, an NPC with a rather unusual request.

SUGGESTED: How to Fish in Stellar Blade

He tasks Eve with catching various fish for his research, providing her with fishing gear, which signifies Fishing is officially unlocked for completion. The Fish Research side quest gets added to Eve’s rapidly growing to-do list, requiring that she bring a Halibut back to Clyde for some rewards.

How to Get Halibut in Stellar Blade

Look to the left of the Clock Tower gate.

The first requirement for catching Halibut in Stellar Blade is to unlock Fishing Intel using Fishing Points at Clyde’s shop. Adding this Intel allows Eve to detect larger fish like the Halibut. Additionally, you will need to purchase some Fish Slice Bait from him as well, as this is what attracts the Halibut once you cast out a line. You may need to farm a few smaller fish to rack up enough Fishing Points to unlock Halibut.

Once you have the appropriate bait and intel, it’s time to find a Halibut out in the open world. Unfortunately, Clyde does not tell you where you could easily find one. There are two locations where you may find Halibuts in Stellar Blade. And one of them is accessible very early in the story.

SUGGESTED: How to Solve the Clock Tower Door Code Puzzle in Stellar Blade

As you progress through the main story, Eve eventually finds herself in the ruined city of Eidos 7, looking to bring back a Hypercell to Xion. Battling through Naytiba and complex puzzle environments alike, she eventually reaches a Clock Tower that requires a special code locked behind a puzzle. There is a fishing spot to the left of the gate that bars Eve’s way where the Halibut can be found.

Head on over and begin the fishing activity by first selecting the fishing line with your D-pad and then casting out a line using the left analog stick. You will need to act fast and tap R2 the moment a fish is hooked to begin catching it. You then alternate between reeling it in with precise pressure on R2 and overpowering it by mashing square. The fish is eventually yours to bring back to Clyde.

Another spot to fish for Halibut opens up at a cave to the northwest of the Wastelands, but Eve cannot access it before the quest A Gift for a Fishing Maniac opens up for Eve. It looks like Eidos 7 is her best bet for Halibuts early on in Stellar Blade.

With the Halibut in your possession, head back to Clyde to collect 4000 Gold and unlock the above mission and its associated fishing spot. If you’re looking to catch more fish and chase this side quest down to completion, the Fantastic Bait should be on your list of priorities.
