How to Get Dead Wire Detonators Schematic in MW3 Zombies
Your guns and bombs are about to get a shocking upgrade to their damage output.
With Season 3 of Call of Duty: MW3 Zombies already underway, new weapons and gear have taken its players by storm. With a lot to collect and many different build possibilities as a result, it’s clear that the game continues to be a gift that keeps on giving.
The midseason Reloaded update adds a whole lot more to the table, including new rewards to obtain from Aether Rifts. And one of those rewards might really deserve all the effort it takes to obtain it.
More Zombies, Half the Time
Aether Rifts are special areas in the game in which you are required to complete three Contracts within a 30-minute timeframe. They require a number of hidden items to be placed on special pedestals at specific portals in order to access them, and they grant numerous rewards for completion.

What’s more, completing a hidden boss encounter may also drop Elder Sigils, an item used to access the Dark Aether Rifts. This adds a layer of complexity to Aether Rifts, reducing the time available to complete contracts to 15 minutes while granting better rewards like Hidden Schematics. Every contract carries a chance of dropping a schematic, such as the one for Dead Wire Detonators, which add shock damage to all of your ammunition for guns and throwables.
Available as a part of the Season Three Relaoded update, getting your hands on this handy upgrade is easy if you know how to get to it.
How to Get Dead Wire Detonators Schematic in MW3 Zombies
You will need to collect a total of four Relics in order to be able to progress into the Dark Aether in Call of Duty: MW3 Zombies. We recommend collecting all of the items first before placing any of them on their respective pedestals.

To begin with, the GIraffe Toy is a reward for completing the fourth chapter of the new season’s Union Story Mission. It requires no upgrades and can be safely stowed away in your inventory until you are ready to access the Aether RIft.
The next item you will need is the Imaginary Friend Drawing. After completing the mission to obtain the Giraffe Toy, head to the coordinates I7 on your map to find a house. On the second floor is a bedroom, where the item is located under the bed. You may or may not require a Stronghold Keycard to enter, depending on whether or not mercenaries have taken over the place.
Simply lie prone and interact with the container under the bed to spawn a Reward Rift with the item in a container that you can interact with to collect it. You will need to upgrade this item to gold rarity by heading on over to F5, where there is a purple triangle on the ground. Standing in it, shoot the three purple runes nearby and solve the puzzle to form the shape of a triangle.
A Summoning Circle will appear, along with a fight against some zombies, including an Elite Special Zombie. Defeat it to unlock the upgrade.
The third item you will need is the Laptop With Stickers, which you can collect by heading on over to a Mercenary Camp and killing the Sergeant with a Hellhound. This must be done after the Act 4 Union Story Mission, and the item can be upgraded by finding the purple triangle on the ground in coordinates F4, solving the puzzle, and defeating an Elite Mimic to collect the upgrade.
Finally, you will need the Science Journal, which can be found in the Stormcaller boss location. It is a purple circle with a radiation logo on your map and is called the Aether Storm. Head on over to it and kill 50 zombies inside the circle. You will need some strong weapons and a gas mask to survive the fight. The Reward Rift spawns in the Tier 1 zone and can be upgraded by solving the purple triangle puzzle in coordinates E4 and defeating the Elite Hellhound boss.
With all these items in hand, place them on their respective pedestals at E4 and defeat the Elite Disciple that spawns to unlock the Sigil you need to permanently unlock this rift. Now, using an Elder Sigil on it is needed to unlock the Dark version of the rift, which you can obtain from playing Tier 3 Contracts in the normal variant until one drops as a reward.
With only 15 minutes to complete three Contracts, the Dead Wire Detonator Schematic can be dropped as a reward for any one of them. Keep farming this Rift until you can collect it. With recurring shock damage and the ability to chain a single attack to nine different targets, this Schematic is certainly worth the effort of obtaining, being highly effective against zombies.
