Nintendo Join PlayStation and Xbox in Ceasing Support of 1 Feature
Nintendo Ceasing Twitter Support. Let's check out the reason behind the decision.
Ever since social media platforms started gaining popularity, the gaming world, especially gaming platforms, started connecting to these social platforms for direct sharing of content. This link used to be the primary way for the players to show off their skills and achievements, but this era soon came to an end as gaming platforms started cutting off the connection from these social media.
Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular portable gaming consoles, with millions of games to enjoy. Aside from the exclusive games, this platform features several renowned multi-platform titles where players can capture and share their screenshots on social platforms. However, the latest announcement from Nintendo has altered things to a great extent.
Nintendo Confirms Their Discontinuation of Social Media Sharing Feature on the Elon Musk-Owned Platform
Indeed, Nintendo Switch players enjoy sharing their screenshots on X (formerly Twitter), but Nintendo has announced that this opportunity has come to an end as they are cutting off their integration with Twitter. In a recent post, they declared this news, saying, “As of June 10, 2024, it will no longer be possible to post screenshots and videos to X (formerly Twitter) from the Nintendo Switch’s Album, or send friend requests to social media users via the Friend Suggestions feature.”
With this announcement, all three renowned gaming platforms withdrew their support from Twitter. Previously, Xbox and PlayStation did the same. Well, none of these announcements reveal any reason behind these decisions, but players assume that Twitter’s increased prices on its API use are the reason behind these gaming platforms following the path to discontinuation.
Following this announcement, @xGaming shared their opinion on it, stating that from June 11, players need to “download Switch gameplay media directly to their smartphones and share it natively on our platform.” They have assured gamers that they will collaborate with their partners to bring “new and exciting experiences to our global gaming community.”
Regarding the Nintendo console, a new announcement has recently arrived from the president about the next-generation Nintendo Switch console.
Nintendo Released Another Upsetting Announcement About the Launch of Switch 2
Nintendo is bringing a next-generation Switch console. This has been a piece of news roaming around the gaming world for a long time, but no official news ever came about the release date, at least the approximate one. After a long wait, finally, the president of Nintendo, Shuntaro Furukawa, talked about this matter, but again with some disappointing updates about Switch 2.
He didn’t arrange any official announcement ceremonies or anything. It was just a tweet revealing his opinion of the console’s status and the official launch time. The president revealed that the successor to the Nintendo Switch will be released within this fiscal year.

Along with that, the tweet says, “We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.”
This statement ruled out any chance of the Nintendo Switch 2’s release shortly. Therefore, this statement didn’t fulfill the expectations of the gamers who have been eagerly waiting for Switch 2. While players have been expecting an exact date, what the president provided them with is an approximate time, which can be anytime until March 2025.
So, for now, there’s nothing else to do besides wait for Switch 2 and see when an official release date finally comes.
