How to Defeat Gigas in Stellar Blade
The Alpha Naytibas is giving you a hard time in Stellar Blade? Well, we are here to provide you with all the possible strategies to fight the creature.
Boss fights are an integral part of every action-adventure game, and Shift Up doesn’t try to make its post-apocalyptic adventure different. The moment you start Stellar Blade, you should be prepared to encounter challenging bosses who can eliminate you in an instant if you’re underprepared. Gigas is one of the toughest opponents Eve fights in the game. So, struggling in this fight isn’t surprising.
Eve’s journey against different types of Naytibas is the main theme of Stellar Blade. The more she progresses through the story missions and explores new areas, the more she’ll face powerful bosses to take down. Like always, the taking-down process is based on her skills and strategies. Even the slightest mistakes lead her to elimination. So, if you’re struggling with Gigas, get prepared with the required information before giving the fight a try.
Stellar Blade Gigas Location: Basic Information About the Boss
Gigas is the fourth world boss to fight in the game, but he is the first Alpha Naytibas that Eve will encounter and slay to clear the path. This creature is even more gigantic than the ones you have encountered previously. With a donut-like head, this quadrupedal monster appears creepy. Another thing that will definitely attract the attention of the players is his sharp, tooth-like claws attached to his head.
Though he is part of the most important enemy group, he appears pretty early in the game as part of the main story mission named Scavenger Adam. After the prologue, players almost immediately receive this mission after completing the 7th Airborne Squad. The Scavenger Adam mission takes players to Eidos 7, one of the most important parts of the game.

As you progress through the mission and complete the objectives, you will eventually reach the Crater. From there, look for the crashed capsule. The boss will suddenly spawn as you start approaching the crashed capsule. This boss fight is going to be the toughest if you compare it with the previous ones you had. So, first, find a Supply Camp and replenish your health, upgrade equipment, and unlock new skills before approaching the crashed capsule.
Now that we are ready for the fight, let’s check out the best strategies to take the boss down.
Stellar Blade Gigas Fighting Strategy: How to Beat the Boss?
Not only is the appearance of the boss gigantic, but the damage output is also deadly. If you are not prepared for the fight, it won’t take long before the boss takes you down. Because the boss appears pretty early, maybe Eve doesn’t have all the required abilities to fight this Alpha Naytibas, but she can still use all the weapons and skills she has learned until now.
The first thing players need to do is focus on their defense. Indeed, counterattacks are the key to draining the boss’s health, but nothing can be more important than survival, and survival requires parrying and blocking incoming attacks. So, the primary strategy for the fight is to master the parrying ability. It will allow Eve to learn the attacks of the boss and prepare counterattacks accordingly without taking damage.
The boss fight opens with a cutscene followed by a QTE by the boss. If you are underprepared or don’t pay attention, you may miss the QTE. It won’t instantly kill you, but of course, it will drain a chunk of your health. So don’t let the attack land successfully. Press the ‘X’ button at the right time to dodge the attack. As the fight begins, it is necessary to understand Gigas’ attacks. The boss has a range of attacks, most of which are unblockable.
Let’s begin with the Pummel attack, in which the boss swings both his hands at you in a series of blows. This is the most frequently used attack by the Gigas. In this swing attack, the boss raises its hands in the air and brings them down on you, dealing tons of damage. This attack can easily be parried. Most importantly, if you can parry all these strikes, the boss will become vulnerable for a few seconds, allowing Eve to land critical hits. Remember, the boss has great balance, which is not easy to break.

Apart from that, the boss sometimes throws rocks at the players, swipes his hands at them, or leans forward toward the players to use his saw-like head to deal damage. All these are unblockable attacks. They can’t be parried as well. So, the only strategy here is to roll, jump, and dodge whenever the boss launches any of these attacks.
However, this boss has more dangerous attacks in his possession. These are the yellow attacks that we have discussed, but the boss has red attacks. In this red attack, the boss throws four punches at you, and the attack ends with a massive jump attack. While the punches can be parried, the jump attack should be dodged. Jump to any side to dodge the attack.
The boss fight has two phases, and once you deal enough damage to the Gigas, the second phase of the fight begins. In this phase, the boss will become more powerful. At the very beginning of this phase, you will notice the hands of the boss turn orange. It indicates the increased power of the enemy. In this phase, the attacks will deal more damage, and a few new attacks will be introduced.
Now the boss will have a punch attack that ends with an explosion. So, creating some distance from the boss is necessary during this phase. Additionally, Gigas will start using a combo attack where he hits twice with a blue light flashing at the end. Try to use the Blink attack whenever you see an attack with a blue glow. If you can land the Blink attack properly, the boss will be stunned, opening your way to land combo attacks. The timing should be perfect in the case of Blink attacks.
The offense strategy will be the same in the second phase. Parry the boss’s attacks in a row to break his balance, so you can land critical attacks. Once you have almost emptied the health bar of the boss, the game will prompt you to press the Triangle button to initiate the final blow to kill Gigas.
That’s everything players should know before going to fight Gigas in Stellar Blade. Once the fight is over, Eve will receive Extreme Nano Elements, Crit Boost Gear, Shield Enhancement Gear, Weapon Core, gold, and EXP as rewards.
