How to Defeat Abaddon in Stellar Blade
Struggling to fight the first major boss in Stellar Blade? Relax and check out this guide for the detailed process.
Stellar Blade was one of the most anticipated games of this year. The controversy over the characterization of Eve has increased the curiosity among gamers to try this game, but Shift Up has invested lots of effort into designing it where almost all the action-adventure elements are balanced. Starting from a vast in-game world to powerful bosses, Stellar Blade doesn’t miss anything to be exciting. Importantly, Abaddon is the first major boss to deal with in the game.
Boss fights have never been easy in action-adventure games. They are tests of players’ skills and combat strategies. In Stellar Blade, the developers have ensured this with the first major boss. So, if you’re struggling to deal with Abaddon, you’re not alone. This guide will help you know the necessary details about the boss and fighting strategy.
Stellar Blade Abaddon Location: Where to Find the Boss?
Stellar Blade is set in a post-apocalyptic world with powerful bosses blocking your path. As their journey starts, players need to progress through the game by completing the main story missions, and after the prologue, they will receive the Scavenger Adam story quest. This mission will take them to one of the earliest areas of the game, Eidos 7.
Once you start exploring the area and completing in-game activities, eventually you will reach the Parking Tower. Abaddon will be found at the highest level of the Parking Tower. The accessing path is not complicated, but the fighting process will be for sure. So, before making your way to the top floor of the tower to find the boss, stop in the Supply Camp at the middle level and get some of the required items for the fight.

Abaddon is a giant Naytiba, wielding two swords in his two hands. Because of his early appearance, players may not yet have acquired all their best abilities by the time they fight him. Still, make sure to use all the combat mechanisms and abilities the game has taught you in the meantime. This fight will be a challenging one as a first boss encounter.
Now that we’ve gathered almost every basic piece of information about the boss, it’s time to check out the best fighting strategies to take this creature down.
Stellar Blade Abaddon Boss Fight: The Best Strategies to Use
In boss fights, players generally look for attacking strategies, but that’s not the only important thing to understand. The defense should equally be taken care of during a fight. Otherwise, your character will take more damage than the boss. Therefore, the first two things that players need to remember are parry and dodge.
They are the best defense strategies, which will help Eve understand the attacks of the boss while avoiding all incoming attacks. Understanding boss attacks is necessary to prepare counterattacks.
The Abaddon fight is divided into two different phases, and we will discuss both in detail. As the first phase begins, the boss will mainly try to attack you with his swords. These giant swords are dangerous, and if they hit, it won’t take much time for you to get eliminated. Therefore, the best way to survive during this phase is to parry the attacks. Additionally, the boss attacks are slow enough to give you time to defend. Go for a close-range fight in the first phase.
Parrying is solely dependent on timing. If your timing is not right, the entire defense falls. So, make sure you are parrying the attacks just before they land. This requires a lot of practice, and once you master the parrying ability, fights will no longer be challenging for you. The boss will use multiple melee attacks in the phase, and parrying a few of them in a row will ruin the balance of the boss, making him vulnerable for you to land hits.
However, not every attack can be parried. Some of his attacks are unblockable. The only relaxing part is that these attacks don’t come out of nowhere. They have the proper indication. Whenever Abaddon launches an attack that is followed by a blue flash, get prepared to dodge and use the Blink ability.

For example, sometimes you will see the boss scream and run towards you with his swords to perform a slice attack using both swords at the same time. This attack can’t be blocked or parried. So, roll for a second and perform a Blink attack instantly. This will stun the boss for a few seconds, giving you time to hit him hard. Once Abaddon’s heath reaches below 60%, the second phase of the fight will begin.
During the second phase of the boss fight, the first thing players need to do is keep a safe distance from the boss. Staying close to Abaddon is no longer safe, as the boss gets an electric buff in this phase. In this phase, the fight gains little speed, and the boss starts launching a deadly new attack.
In the second phase, the boss often performs a yellow attack, in which he lifts his swords into the sky and summons electric bolts. This attack is dangerous, but fortunately, the bolts don’t land randomly anywhere. A few seconds before they hit the floor, a circle will mark their location. Jump or roll to avoid getting hit by them.
Apart from these, the boss has two more new yellow attacks. In the first one, the boss jumps in the air and lands with a massive blow to the ground. The next one is a projectile attack, which can deal damage at a significant distance. Notably, yellow attacks can’t be parried. Players can only dodge them. Therefore, keeping your distance from the boss is the most important thing in the second phase.
The attack strategy won’t change in this phase. Dodge these yellow attacks, but parry the regular sword attacks of the boss as many times as possible in a row to make him defenseless for a few seconds. Alternatively, in the battle arena, you will see explosive drums scattered here and there. If the boss is near these barrels, explode them to deal some decent damage.
That’s everything players need to know before they go for the Abaddon fight in Stellar Blade. This fight will take some time, but stick to your strategy and don’t try to speed up the fight. Once the boss is taken down, he will drop Extreme Polymer Materials, Extreme Nano Elements, Protection Gear, Beta Charge Gear, Weapon Core, Gold, and EXP as rewards.
Defeating Abaddon may be hard, but there are much more difficult bosses like Gigas later on in the game. Check out more of our Stellar Blade guides to make the game a smooth experience.
