How to Perfect Dodge in Stellar Blade
Stellar Blade is an upcoming PS5 title which is scheduled for release on 26 April 2024. This action-adventure title from Sony Interactive Entertainment is set in a post-apocalyptic earth where players must engage in a distinct style of combat to defeat their enemies. Players must conform to this distinct combat style by grasping the attack patterns of enemies and countering them with accurate timing.
The game story revolves around the protagonist, Eve who has been tasked to reclaim earth from vicious creatures called the Naytibas. These deadly creatures will unleash powerful attacks upon you which must be defended by performing dodges. To completely evade an attack a player must be able to execute a Perfect Dodge. These dodges are done with precise timing so that the dodge happens at the exact time of the attack.
A demo of the game was released on March 29, 2024, and since then many players have tried out their dodging skills against enemies. Below you will be able to learn how to execute a Perfect Dodge in Stellar Blade.
How to Execute a Perfect Dodge in Stellar Blade
Players will have to dodge attacks from enemies and bosses as they progress through the game. At the start of the game players will have the dodge skill but the Perfect Dodge is a special skill that must be unlocked in the skill tree. There are many types of available skills in Stellar Blade. These skills can be unlocked in the game by using SP which can be found in the Skill Kiosks in the camps. Only after unlocking the Perfect Dodge using the required SP players will be able to use it against enemies.
In the game, a Perfect Dodge can be executed by pressing the Circle button on your PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. The game has been specifically designed to generate real-time haptic feedback for players. When a Perfect Dodge is performed it will make you temporarily invulnerable to enemy attacks. Utilize this moment to perform a counterattack on your enemy. Click on the Triangle button to unleash a heavy attack right after performing a Perfect Dodge.
After a successful Perfect Dodge, press the Heavy Attack Button (Triangle Button) to perform a counter-attack. You must remember though, that a counter-attack will make you vulnerable to your enemy’s attacks. Therefore to execute a perfect counterattack try to dodge the last hit from an enemy’s series of attacks.
Along with the Perfect Dodge the Skill Tree also unlocks other options that can be used after performing a successful Perfect Dodge. One of the options allows you to upgrade your Perfect Dodge skills. The upgrades for Perfect Dodge can be accessed via camps in the Skill Kiosks.
How to upgrade Perfect Dodge in Stellar Blade
Stellar Blade has a total of ten upgrade options for improving your Perfect Dodge. Upgrading each dodge will cost you a different amount of SP. Below we have provided a list of the different upgrades and their effects on the Perfect Dodge.
- Reflex Boost- This increases the time window of the Perfect Dodge.
- Double Dodge- Allows another dodge while dodging.
- Burst Energy Recharge I- Increases the amount of Burst Energy recharged after a Perfect Dodge.
- Burst Energy Recharge II- This one is more powerful than Burst Energy Recharge I.
- Reflection I- A Combo Attack Skill that is performed after a Perfect Dodge.
- Chain Reflection I- A Combo Attack Skill that can be performed after Reflection I.
- Reflection II- A Combo Attack Skill that is performed after a Perfect Dodge.
- Chain Reflection II- A Combo Attack Skill that is performed after Reflection II that knocks down the enemy.
- Blink- Used for teleportation to sneak up behind enemies and unleash a Fatal Attack.
- Repulse- Steps back while pushing enemies winding up a Fatal Attack away. Temporarily increases Attack Power and reveals the weaknesses of certain enemies.
