How to Find All Bell Bearings in Elden Ring
Elden Ring has been a constant presence in the gaming industry ever since its 2022 release. With Shadow of the Erdtree just around the corner, it can be a good idea to dive back into The Lands Between to create a brand new build and take on the latest threats they have to offer.
Creating a new build in Elden Ring can be a challenge in its early hours, though. Getting your equipment leveled up can add to that investment of time and effort, but knowing how to unlock materials like smithing stones and gloveworts for purchase at the Roundtable Hold can make life in The Lands Between a lot easier, even into New Game +.
Reinvent Your Inventory
The Lands Between are different from other FromSoftware games in their scope and explorable areas, but they are certainly the same when it comes to upgrading the various weapons and Ashes of War you find in them. While weapons require smithing stones and somber smithing stones to upgrade them based on their rarity, Ashes of War require the use of flowers called grave gloveworts or ghost gloveworts for the same purpose.

You may want to put a few levels on both your weapons and Ashes of War. We all know just how deadly the game’s many bosses can be. But considering that upgrade materials and items for crafting consumables are found only through exploration, making them available for purchase at the Roundtable Hold makes sense.
Fortunately, this is made easy with the inclusion of Bell Bearings, collectible items that you can hand over to the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold. Each Bell Bearing unlocks a specific set of consumables and upgrade materials for purchase, making collecting them all very convenient for any Tarnished looking to create a boss-killing build.
How to Find All Bell Bearings in Elden Ring
You can find the necessary Bell Bearings to upgrade weapons and Ashes of War, and each one corresponds to a specific type of material, with each tier unlocking the next two levels of quality in materials. With four tiers each containing Smithing Stone Miner’s Bell Bearings, Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearings, Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearings, and Ghost Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearings to find, it was time we got started.

Additionally, any merchant or vendor you find in the game can be killed to obtain their Bell Bearing, but beware that this may lock you out of questlines they are connected to. Attack them at your own risk, but it does save a lot of travel for your Tarnished if there are specific consumables you may need to use regularly.
Here are the locations for Bell Bearings in Elden Ring that you can use to upgrade your gear.
Smithing Stone Miner’s Bell Bearings
Smithing stones allow the upgrade of common weapons, with up to eight levels of stones upgrading weapons as high as +24. The Smithing Stone Miner’s Bell Bearings can be found at the following locations:
- Smithing Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1] is a reward for beating the Cystalian Boss at the end of the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel.
- Smithing Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [2] can be found inside a chest inside the first secret area of the Sealed Tunnel in the western part of the Capital Outskirts in Leyndell.
- Smithing Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [3] is in a chest at the bottom of the stairs found in Zamor Ruins, on the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- Smithing Stone Miner‘s Bell Bearing [4] drops as a reward from the Godskin Duo boss fight in Crumbling Farum Azula as a part of the main story, making it unmissable.
Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing
Somber Smithing Stones unlock rarer weapons like the Moonveil or Bloodhound’s Fang up to level 9, unlocking a very high damage potential for them. The bell bearings you need to find to make them available for purchase can be found at these locations:
- Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1] drops from defeating the Fallingstar Beast in Selia Crystal Tunnel, found in Caelid.
- Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [2] can be obtained as a drop from the Crystalian Spear and Ringblade boss in the Altus Tunnel.
- Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [3] is on a body outside the First Church of Marika in the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [4] is on a corpse near the Tempest Facing Balcony in Crumbling Farum Azula.
Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearings
Grave Gloveworts allow upgrades to common Ashes of War, letting you take them up to level 9, with the final level requiring a rarer form to unlock. The Bell Bearings you need are found at the locations indicated below, with each one unlocking three levels of Glovewort in the store.
- Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [1] is at the Wyndham Catacombs in Altus Plateau, dropping from the Erdtree Burial Watchdog Boss.
- Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [2] is dropped by the Ulcerated Tree Spirit in the Giants Mountaintop’s Catacombs.
- Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [3] is found in a lake that is accessed from the Crumbling Beast Grave Depths Site of Grace in Crumbling Farum Azula by taking the path west, away from the path towards your next story objective. There are many tough enemies here, so being stealthy might be a good choice.
Ghost Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearings
Unlike their common counterparts, Ghost Gloveworts upgrade the rarer Ashes of War that you can find, like the Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tiche, making them valuable for the later parts of Elden Ring. Their corresponding Bell Bearings can be found below:
- Ghost Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [1] can be picked up right as you enter Nokron, Eternal City, from a corpse in a small stone building.
- Ghost Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [2] is in Nokstella, Eternal City, in a chest guarded by several shielded silver tears. Lightning works wonders here!
- Ghost Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [3] can be found in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Take the elevator up from the Haligtree Roots Site of Grace, exit the church, and go left from the church towards the graveyard. There are many Kindred of Rot enemies here, so a cautious approach can work wonders.
With these Bell Bearings handed in at the Twin Maiden Husks’ shop, you never have to farm upgrade materials again. The Runes you need to buy them are a different story altogether, based on your progress with the main story.
