SUMMARY
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released only a few days back and has already cracked all the previous records of the series.
  • However, recently, players have discovered a shrine that pays tribute to one core team member.
  • Despite the fact that the final game is so well-made, the journey to reach this perfection wasn't smooth.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is one of the most anticipated games released this year and broke multiple records within a few days of its global release. BioWare is one of the widely popular game developer companies, with games like Mass Effect and Baldur’s Gate in possession. However, the Dragon Age series is much younger than the other two mentioned above but has claimed almost equal popularity.

With the latest installment, this series has surpassed all the previous records and reached new milestones. However, this path was not easy. The development has seen loads of obstacles, but when the game was finally released, the team showed it hadn’t forgotten the contribution of one veteran member.

BioWare Added a Special Shrine to Remember the Memories of One Veteran Member of the Team

BioWare is giving tribute to a missing member in Dragon Age: The Veilguard who left the team unexpectedly due to a tragic situation.

The success of a game does not always depend on how well it is made, and sometimes an intelligent strategy to build the excitement works well. While Dragon Age: The Veilguard is undoubtedly made well, the promotion strategy also worked like magic as every trailer revealed something new to players.

Now, coming to the core development process, it is not a matter of joke. It requires constant efforts from a number of people to get the shape that players receive with its global release. However, sometimes this process even leads to pathetic losses.

Just the same thing happened to The Veilguard developer team when they lost one core member, which was the cinematic designer at Electronic Arts, Bruno Hayne. Earlier this year, on May 15, he unexpectedly passed away, but the team has proved it hasn’t forgotten the one who was part of the team during all the struggles during these years.

Recently, on Reddit, one player pointed out a shrine that is added as a tribute to this talented member of the team, who is mentioned as “not only a knight of great prowess and courage, but an artist who lifted his comrades’ hearts with his craft.”

This heartwarming shrine will be found once players recruit Gray Warden and do some exploration around the area.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Has Gone Through a Rough Way to Become What It Is Now

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has gone through tough times for years during the development process.

If you are a fan of this fantasy role-playing series, you must remember that the entries were pretty consistent up to 2014. After that, it took a decade for BioWare to bring the latest installment. It’s not like the team wasn’t working, but because the development process wasn’t smooth.

According to a recent report, the team had gone through several obstacles and turmoil, which even made the team think of changing the way they have been making the games.

At one point, the developer team even considered The Veilguard as a multiplayer game. However, this thought didn’t last long, as soon as it realized the USP of the RPGs BioWare made. Things didn’t end there.

Once this problem was sorted, something else blocked the path. The company conducted a layoff last summer, which took away veteran people with loads of experience in developing games.

According to the studio head of BioWare during his interview, after all these troubles, placing “the right people in the right roles at the right time” has finally created the game, despite slipping the original release date.
