SUMMARY
  • Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was released last month, and already, the developer decided something strict.
  • Players should be aware about using mods in the game, especially in one mode.
  • Despite the reason not being revealed, the developer requested players to follow the rules.

Sparking Zero is the latest Dragon Ball game and is considered one of the best instalments of the series. Of course, a single reason can’t take it to that height, but the combat mechanics are mostly responsible for this massive success.

No matter which game you have been grinding, there must be some elements that are responsible for ruining the experience. Sometimes the hackers are the problem, and other times, modders. At this point, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero players have been suffering through some serious mod issues, and Spike Chunsoft has announced the step it is going to take against the abusers.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Players Must Stop Using Mods in One Game Mode

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is taking a tough step to prevent players from using mods.

Mods are intended to make the gameplay better. But there are times when players start abusing them to ruin the gameplay or cause issues. While Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s reviews are immensely positive, a situation appeared recently, where a group of players kept using mods in the custom battle mode.

In this game, the custom battle mode is designed to give gamers a chance to create their very own intense, strategic battles with their favorite characters. This not only allows you to let your favorite characters fight against each other but also helps you determine the best team by trying out different team combinations.

While things were going well, some abusers started using mods to create different characters or making unfinished characters playable through unfair means. This probably caused a licensing problem, although nothing was stated officially.

No matter what made the team take this step, on October 30, the developer brought it to X and announced, “Appropriate security measures will be taken against those who used any MOD system in Custom Battle.”

In the post, it has warned players to delete custom battles that have mods included or the accounts will be banned. Also, it has clarified that the support team is not going to address any issues that are caused by the use of mods.

Sparking Zero Players Are Mostly Happy With This Step

The reason behind the decision hasn’t yet been revealed, but players are assuming it’s probably due to a licensing problem.

Mods are not always bad. Previously, we have seen a lot of unique mods that replace the main character of the game, and those received immense popularity. A similar one was used to replace the lead of Black Myth: Wukong with Goku. Those were fun, but using mods in the Custom mode is probably creating issues, and even players are happy with this decision to ban accounts.

Some called it a bit of good advice and mentioned one shouldn’t violate the game’s guidelines.

A lot of players seem to understand the reason, as they expressed there must be some licensing issue that caused this announcement.

Fans are even speculating upon the probable reasons behind the developers taking such a decision within one month of its global release.

Well, mods are nothing new, and generally, developers don’t take such steps for using them in games.

Since Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft have taken this decision, there must be some serious issues.

Until any official announcement comes, it’s hard to tell why this decision has been made.
