Alan Wake 2 and Control Spin-off FBC Firebreak Set to Unite PlayStation and Xbox Gamers in the Most Unique Way
The latest Xbox event revealed multiple upcoming games, but two Remedy Entertainment titles, including Alan Wake 2, got the entire spotlight.
- Remedy Entertainment is ready to continue its Control universe with an upcoming spin-off game.
- This is going to be the first ever multiplayer game in the series.
- Alan Wake 2 also got a new trailer for its second expansion.
After the phenomenal success of Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment is once again ready to dive into the Control universe with FBC Firebreak. Initially, the game was introduced as Project Condor. However, with the latest trailer, the studio has confirmed the title of its first-ever online multiplayer spin-off to Control.
The Control universe started in 2019 with the release of the base game. The story of the game revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control and is set within the Oldest House. This universe was continued in Alan Wake 2. However, the next spin-off game of the Control universe is also ready.
Remedy Entertainment Is About to Take a Big Step in Uniting Sony and Microsoft Gamers With FBC: Firebreak
After Sony hosted its September State of Play, Xbox organized a showcase on October 17 to reveal a plethora of trailers and teasers of upcoming games. However, the major attention was drawn by Remedy Entertainment as it came up with two big announcements.
The first was the official revelation of the upcoming spin-off game of the Control series, FBC: Firebreak. The game got its first official trailer on Thursday.
The trailer came toward the end of the event and became the center of discussion. As the trailer showed, this new first-person multiplayer co-op shooter is set in the same universe as the 2019 title, and this kind of weird spin-off’s story also revolves around the paranormal FBC.
That’s not everything. The next update has blown out the minds of PS and Xbox gamers. FBC: Firebreak will launch on Game Pass and PS Plus at launch. That’s a rare scenario, and except for Sea of Stars, players won’t find many similar examples.
Therefore, this game is on a mission to unite console players when it comes in 2025. Anyway, the exact date hasn’t yet been revealed.
The Event Released the Alan Wake 2 DLC Trailer
After the disappointment that State of Play generated among gamers with some unwanted remasters, Thursday’s announcement refreshed their minds. A lot of exciting announcements took place.
Notably, FBC: Firebreak wasn’t the only Remedy Entertainment game shared during Partner Preview. This developer released a trailer for the Alan Wake sequel’s second expansion, The Lake House.
The Alan Wake sequel is one of the best survival horror games released in recent times, but the first expansion, Night Springs, was average. Though most players enjoyed the storyline, the response was not overwhelming. A lot of players found it slightly twisted and off the track.
However, the team assured that the expansion, The Lake House, is more in tune with the base game.
This expansion launched on the date that leakers have been suggesting for a long time: October 22, 2024. As expected, it was released simultaneously on PC, PS5, and Series X/S.
