The Incompetent Companions in Space Marine 2 Have a Chance of Actually Becoming Useful in the Near Future
It looks like Brothers Chairon and Gadriel are not doing their jobs properly in Space Marine 2.
- While Space Marine 2 has been enjoying massive success, some aspects are starting to annoy the player base.
- The incompetency of Titus' fellow Space Marines is a glaring issue that many players have complained about.
- Saber Interactive has addressed the complaints, ensuring the fanbase that the problem is under consideration.
Players who have tried to take on Space Marine 2‘s numerous challenges solo have probably come across extremely infuriating situations in which an objective during the campaign can be just a few small steps away and all of a sudden, the trio of Space Marines does not manage to complete it in time.
Well, more often than not, that is simply due to how incompetent the AI companions are during the single-player experience that the game offers, as plenty of players have reported frustrating moments triggered by none other than Titus’ very own Brothers Chairon and Gadriel. Fortunately, Saber Interactive has heard the complaints a bit too many times to ignore them any longer, promising that it will consider doing something about them in the near future.
Space Marine 2’s AI Bots Are Causing a Lot of Issues, but Saber Interactive Has Heard the Complaints
Although the Chief Creative Officer at Saber Interactive, Tim Willits, had already warned the Warhammer 40K fanbase about a companion that will continuously get on their nerves, the sheer incompetency of the two Space Marines accompanying Titus is probably not what players may have expected to grind their gears.
Letting its player base go all out with feedback on the Focus Together forum, publisher Focus Entertainment has created a channel between the fans and Saber Interactive so that the necessary changes can be made to the game to ensure its longevity. However, the complaints regarding the two companions that follow Titus through most of the Space Marine sequel’s campaign started to increase in numbers, prompting the developer to include them in its extensive “Message to the community” post.
Saber has heard the circumstances that the players have been repeatedly complaining about, ranging from the AI bot companions not paying any attention to the actual mission to proving absolutely useless even in battles. “Bots seem a bit passive because we don’t want them to take the spotlight from the player,” wrote the developer in its lengthy note, promising that the upcoming patch will make them more useful during the various boss fights in the campaign.
Warhammer 40K Fans Playing at Veteran Difficulty Are Being Affected the Most
Saber Interactive further stated that the behavior of the AI companions for certain campaign missions will also be under close consideration, as the developer will ensure that they put more focus on the objectives that need to be completed.
But while the issue is not that glaring when it comes to other difficulties in Space Marine 2, players who have taken on the Veteran difficulty during the campaign are being affected by the companions’ inefficiency the most.
“We will adjust Veteran difficulty in a future patch,” explained the developer, assuring the Warhammer 40K fanbase that it will obviously not become too easy, but it will be “more fair” when the improvements to the AI bots come.
There are various requests that players have been putting up for Saber to consider, and thankfully, it seems like the developer is paying close attention to community feedback to keep Space Marine 2‘s momentum going.
