Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Features Battles With Special Endings That Could Add Even More Replay Value
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will present its players with multiple unique scenarios, depending on their actions, for some of its battles.
- Producer Jun Furutani had a conversation with PlayStation regarding the recently revealed Majin Buu saga trailer for Sparking Zero.
- Aside from featuring iconic battles from all across the Dragon Ball franchise, the game will also come with its own twists in certain situations.
- From special endings to unexpected character interactions, Spike Chunsoft seems to be leaving no stone unturned for its upcoming title.
With not even a full two months to go before Dragon Ball fans finally get their hands on the next Budokai Tenkaichi installment after more than 14 years since the previous iconic entry in the series, developer Spike Chunsoft and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have been gradually revealing more details about their upcoming highly anticipated fighting game.
Although Sparking Zero’s Gamescom 2024 appearance was quite short compared to many of the other behemoths that took center stage at the annual event, new information about Goku and team’s next adventure in gaming was revealed thanks to PlayStation’s interview with the title’s producer.
And it looks like Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is all set to carve its own path in the current-gen video game landscape, featuring battles with special endings that could add even more layers and replay value to an already hyped experience.
The Upcoming Budokai Tenkaichi Is Shaping up to Be a Fresh Experience Even for Long-Term Dragon Ball Fans
While Bandai Namco has been taking things systematically when it comes to revealing storylines and characters from all across the Dragon Ball realm, ranging from specific themes to important sagas like the one featuring the terrifying Androids, it was finally time to put the spotlight on the fanbase’s favorite pink villain.
The Dragon Ball Z anime had no shortage of excellent antagonists and their respective sagas, but the Majin Buu storyline was definitely a highlight that stuck with viewers since, aside from its intense situation, it was one of the final major arcs in the series.
So it only made sense for producer Jun Furutani to sit down with PlayStation and discuss some of the elements that Spike Chunsoft implemented to make Sparking Zero the ultimate Dragon Ball experience, with the game’s adaptation of the Buu saga serving as the conversational catalyst.
“In some scenes, you can see a special ending depending on the outcome of the battle,” revealed the producer, while also confirming that this feature will not just be “limited to the Majin Buu arc,” as these battles will be sprinkled throughout the Episode Battle mode of the upcoming title.
Similar to how many modern video games give their players different cutscenes and results if they approach a scenario in a certain way, Sparking Zero aims to do the same, increasing the replay value of the next Budokai Tenkaichi to even greater heights, as fans can try “something new” a couple of times and get unique endings to a battle.
Sparking Zero Is Set to Feature Special Character Interactions That Have Never Been Seen Before
Some of the iconic character interactions from the anime, like the one featured in the Gamescom 2024 trailer between Ultimate Gohan and Super Buu, will obviously have to make it to Sparking Zero for it to be considered a top-tier Dragon Ball experience, but fortunately, Jun Furutani confirmed that Spike Chunsoft has gone a step further with that concept.
“There are special interactions between certain characters before and after battles,” stated the producer, adding that some of the fighters from the Dragon Ball Z anime will also interact in a unique way with the ones from Super.
Which means that the characters who have never had a proper chance to interact in the various anime series will be able to do so in Sparking Zero, increasing the number of possibilities that fans have in store for them this October.
Of course, previous installments in the Budokai Tenkaichi series already nearly perfected the special interactions between characters, but since Super was not even out during that era, Sparking Zero has the chance to be the most complete Dragon Ball game.
