Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Could Be Without an Iconic Weapon We All Thought Was a Certainty
The Space Marine 2 community just wants to see the Tyranids burn.
Even if one puts its compelling narrative aside, the Space Marine 2 predecessor came with a wide variety of gameplay options, which was largely thanks to the plethora of weapons that it used to present to its player base. In the hopes of proving to be one of the most exciting Warhammer 40K experiences, it only makes sense for the upcoming sequel to take that aspect and add various new tools for the community’s fight against the Tyranids.
However, there is one weapon that fans were really hoping to see make their way into the Space Marine sequel, but by the looks of everything that they have been shown thus far, it does not seem like it will be regularly available in the game.
The Absence of the Flamer Sparks Concerns Within the Space Marine 2 Community
As developer Saber Interactive reveals more details and shares new footage of the Space Marine followup, with exactly a month to go before the highly anticipated title finally hits the shelves, the community has started to see some inconsistencies regarding one specific weapon that holds great value in the Warhammer 40K universe.
The weapon in question is the Flamer, which took center stage in the official gameplay footage that the developer shared, and considering the new terrifying enemies that look like something straight out of Helldivers 2, it felt like the perfect arsenal addition to take care of the Tyranids. However, the fanbase’s concerns about the Flamer have heightened due to its absence from all of the previews that have started to surface on the internet.
The lack of footage showing the Flamer in action has led to fans speculating why Saber is taking this route, with the possibility of the weapon being “campaign mission specific” being the most likely.
The Fiery Weapon Could Just Be Limited to the Next Warhammer 40K Game’s Campaign
Being one of the many weapons that Warhammer 40K fans want added to the upcoming sequel, the Flamer already has the community wanting its inclusion in the game’s multiplayer modes as well.
SUGGESTED: Space Marine 2 Could Feature the Return of a Surprising Character No-One Expected
The sentiment that the Flamer will just be limited to the Space Marine 2 campaign is also being echoed by other members of the fanbase, which could turn out to be a disappointing revelation.
Transcending the Space Marine community and bringing in players from the Helldivers 2 side as well, one fan also took the opportunity for a jab at Arrowhead Game Studios and its recent weapon nerfing spree.
Unfortunately, the Flamer could actually only be a one-time use option during a very specific section of the main narrative, and its absence in the game’s other modes is already causing some fans to be upset.
Perhaps Saber Interactive is just keeping it quiet about the most-requested weapons until Space Marine 2 launches on September 9, 2024, hoping to surprise its fanbase with the one it can burn its enemies with.
