“The finisher in particular is wild”: Valorant’s Champions 2024 Bundle May Be Among the ‘Best they’ve ever made,’ According to the Devs
The Phantom gets some much-needed love in Valorant's new Champions 2024 Bundle.
Valorant players have a lot to look forward to with the announcement of a new Champions Bundle and some upgrades to a fan-favorite weapon. The 5v5 first-person tactical shooter, popular among esports players around the world, has launched the new bundle ahead of its 2024 run of the Valorant Champions Tour.
With numerous modes to play and a variety of builds to try for its players, Valorant has been a critical and commercial success. Drawing inspiration from its counterparts in the FPS genre while managing to stand out enough from them on its own, it’s a game that has risen to prominence – and is all set to scale new heights with its release on consoles earlier this year.
Valorant’s Unique Take on the FPS Formula
Refusing to be written off as just another game among a plethora of team-based shooters, Valorant combines a unique futuristic setting with creative gameplay that requires coordination, planning, and near-perfect execution in order for its players to succeed in its various game modes. That’s further amplified by the presence of a bevy of cool weapons and finishing moves that add a layer of creative build-making to the mix.
Valorant’s rise to prominence among esports players would come as no surprise, considering how its developer Riot Games continues to add new content to the game in order to keep it interesting – something that other shooters could learn from. And its developers believe that their latest creation is going to be another feather in their cap.
The Year of the Phantom… Again?
While automatic rifles often form the bread and butter of any competitive FPS title, Valorant takes things up a notch with several options for the player’s Agents to choose from. While 2023 saw the emergence of the Vandal as a top choice for many players, Riot Games has decided to shake things up a little in order to make its players try out other options in the field.

The announcement on the game’s official X handle places the Phantom as a new top option for its players. The Vandal’s more silent and accurate counterpart has received more than a few upgrades from the looks of it and might just be what Valorant players have been waiting for in terms of its prowess in a firefight.
However, not all Valorant players are happy with the new Phantom skin, expressing the hope that other weapons in the bundle might offer more substantial utilities in combat.
While it can be difficult to balance the familiarity of a regularly used weapon against the potential of trying something new altogether, Riot Games should give such responses some thought in order to make the most out of player feedback.
Other players remain optimistic about the Champions Bundle bringing something new to the table – which Riot Games would definitely like. Either way, Valorant is ready for its next big season and its fans are sure to dive back in with the same enthusiasm they have shown for the game.
They would certainly hope for crossplay between PC and consoles in the near future, though.
