How to Defeat Morgott the Omen King in Elden Ring
Gamers probably unanimously agree that Elden Ring is one of the best open-world experiences in recent times. This game not only has a massive open world and a complicated storyline, but powerful bosses await every step of the game. Be it a main storyline boss or an optional boss, none is easy to handle. So, if you are trying to beat Morgott, the Omen King but instead getting eliminated, that’s nothing surprising. In this guide, we will tell you the most required strategies and weapons that you should use for this fight and complete it faster.
Before diving into the topic of how to beat Morgott, the Omen King, there is some important information that you should know, especially his location.
Where to Find Morgott, the Omen King in Elden Ring?
Morgott is a mandatory enemy in Elden Ring whom you can’t avoid. He must be taken down to access the Mountaintops of the Giants, the final area of the game. But this is not the first time you are encountering Morgott. You must have remembered Margit the Fell Omen, whom you have faced in the Stormveil Castle.
After his defeat, the boss changed his name, his appearance, and powers. When you find him as Morgott, the Omen King, he will be located at the top of Leyndell, Royal Capital. His gigantic appearance and words are enough to give you a glimpse of the hardship he’s going to pose. At this meeting, he declares all the other Shardbearers as traitors. Therefore, the boss considers it his holy duty to end your life.

If you are preparing for the fight, you can summon Melina, your maiden for help, or just go alone. The closest Site of Grace is Queen’s Bedchamber. With these information in mind, let’s get prepared for the fight.
Morgott Fighting Preparation in Elden Ring
To get prepared, first, you need to know the weakness of the boss. Though most attacks can’t deal significant damage to Morgott, he is specifically weak to slash attacks and frost damage. Therefore players must choose a weapon that can deal these two damages. So, we recommend using a sword that has high slash damage. Additionally, equip Ice Scaling on it.
Apart from that, Morgott is weak to bleed and rot damages. So, you should not pass the chance to inflict these damages occasionally and drain a huge chunk of his health bar. We suggest bringing Reduvia and Moonveil. These two are the best Elden Ring weapons to inflict the bleed effect quickly. Alternatively, you can have Rotten Breath incantation, to inflict Scarlet Rot, and drain the boss’ health over time.
During the fight, you can use Margit’s Shackle twice to bind the boss for a few seconds, allowing you a passage to deal the most damage possible. If you do not have enough confidence to fight him alone, you can bring Spirit Ash. In this case, we will suggest, Lone Wolves spirit ash. The benefit of having this Spirit Ash is that it will keep the boss busy, allowing you to hit him. Also, it will deal damage to Morgott occasionally.

How to Beat Morgott in Elden Ring?
Margott and Margit share some similar moves but most of their moves differ as the attacks Morgott uses are much deadlier than Margit’s. So, before jumping into the fight, you must know the attacks and how to do self-defense. The first and the most used attack of Morgott is the Spear Attack. In this attack, the boss summons a large spear and throws it at the players. Generally, the spear he charges comes at a faster speed and maintains a lower height. So crouching won’t work. Instead, you must jump and dodge the attack. If it hits, you will lose a large chunk of HP.
Similar to this attack, Morgott will summon a Holy Hammer and try to slam you with it. It does a significant amount of damage if the hammer hits you. After using these attacks for a while, you will suddenly find the boss has summoned lots of Holy Blades over his head. Be prepared for a deadly attack, Holy Blade Shower. If it hits, it will do tons of damage. Once the Holy Blade Shower starts, it will keep going for a while. Make sure to watch out for the blades and avoid them. In the meantime, the boss won’t sit idle. He will start attacking you with the Spear or hammer attacks.
Next, comes the combo attacks of the boss. Morgott has a deadly combo attack which is the Hammer combo, where the boss summons a hammer and charges it toward the players along with his sword. This attack must be dodged by rolling out of the boss’s way. If you stay and the attack hits, you will lose lots of health.
These are the attacks that the boss uses during the first phase of the fight. But once he reaches 50% of his health, the fight instantly turns more intense. The attacks that he will launch during this stage can eliminate you almost instantly. The first thing you must be careful of is the Burst attack. It is an AoE attack where the boss screams and releases a powerful burst of energy. To avoid this attack, step back and stay away from the boss.
Next comes the Blood Slash attack, where the boss raises the sword and holds it with both hands. Once the sword starts glowing red, he slashes it, and this attack explodes. To protect yourself from getting damaged, roll towards the boss. This attack doesn’t affect the area near the boss.
The final attack of this stage that you should avoid is the Blood Thrust attack. Similar to the Blood Slash attack, this time also the boss will raise the sword and it will start glowing red. But instead of slashing, the boss will charge at you while thrusting his sword into you. If it hits, you will get tons of damage. To avoid it, you must roll towards the boss. Don’t roll backward as the range will be huge.
While avoiding these attacks don’t miss the chances to hit the boss. Use your weapons to deal as much damage as possible. Once the boss is dead, players will get Remembrance of the Omen King and Morgott’s Great Rune as rewards.
