Microsoft has decided to bring a long list of surprises to Xbox gamers. While some of its latest announcements received lots of criticism from fans, this one has surprised gamers to a great extent. Most importantly, this announcement doesn’t only concern Xbox gamers but also PlayStation players, especially PlayStation 3 players.

PlayStation 5 supports almost every PlayStation 4 game, but not the games before PS4. Therefore, PlayStation 3 backwards compatibility is one of the highly requested features that Sony is currently working on. At least leaks suggest that point. However, as the latest Xbox leak suggests, even Xbox gamers can access the PlayStation 3 games.

Xbox Is Potentially Bringing a New Mode to Get PlayStation 3 Emulation Support Before PlayStation 5

Xbox is potentially on its way to giving players the experience of classic games from other platforms.

PlayStation 3 has multiple renowned titles that players want to access on their current consoles, and Sony seems to be working on that process. Well, there’s been no official announcement released about it. In the meantime, Microsoft, a long-time rival of Sony, has reportedly developed Developer Mode, which will allow Xbox Series X/S to run PlayStation 3 games.

Well, this news is also a leak that Modern Vintage Gamer recently shared on his YouTube channel. The video is mainly dedicated to Xbox’s emulation capabilities, and while talking about the latest announced OpenGL/Vulkan support, he mentioned that this may make the emulation of PlayStation 3 games possible.

Not only that, but with the Developer Mode and its recent changes, even Nintendo Switch games can be played on Xbox. Since this news went viral, Xbox fans have gotten excited about getting their favorite games on Xbox.

Fans are eagerly waiting for this feature to come and for them to get the chance to experience different console games on Xbox.

Some fans even expressed that if Sony doesn’t get PlayStation 3 games on the PlayStation 5, then switching to the Xbox Series X/S is a better option.

Well, some players are curious about whether Sony has already blocked it or not.

Microsoft hasn’t stopped here. It has announced a few more surprising decisions within a few hours, and one of them concerns the price of Game Pass.

Microsoft Restructured Its Subscription Service to Introduce a New Game Pass Tier Along With Price Increase

Xbox Game Pass price increase has made players angry about Microsoft’s announcement and brought brutal criticism from them.

Game Pass price increase has been a long-circulating rumor in the Xbox community. Initially, players ignored things, but a recent update has clarified all the confusion. Microsoft has decided to revamp its subscription service and increase the price of the Game Pass. For example, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will now cost $19.99 a month instead of $16.99.

Similarly, the PC Game Pass will now cost $11.99 a month, and the basic Xbox Game Pass Core tier will require $74.99 a year. Even from now on, players can no longer pre-pay for Xbox Game Pass for Console for more than 13 months. However, those who have already paid for a longer time won’t be affected.

In addition, Microsoft has replaced the Xbox Game Pass Console tier with the Xbox Game Pass Standard, which will cost $14.99 per month but won’t give access to games on day one. For the new players, these rules will be applicable on July 10, 2024. Veteran Game Pass users will get some more time, and they will face these increased prices on September 12, 2024.

Indeed, players are not happy with this announcement, but there’s nothing they can do. Therefore, as you wait for some further updates, don’t miss out on how 7 Days to Die has broken records right before its current-gen release after more than a decade.
